Not a big fan of these cars, my pick would be the Riv. Did they not make a 2dr. Tbird in that era?

The house is called The Chemosphere and was designed by American architect John Lautner in 1960. It's still there today and is now owned by the publisher of Taschen art books, Benedikt Taschen. It is located on the San Fernando Valley side of the Hollywood Hills on Torreyson Drive.

1959 was a significant year for Pontiac- first with the trademark divided grilles, first for the 389 engine, first year for the arrowhead insignia and first year for the "Wide Track" advertising.

What ever your politics, what does the comment have to do with traditional hot rods. Mom would say as I'm sure some of yours did, "if you can't say anything nice, shut up"

  25. Exactly - why detract from this great thread by delving into the muck of politics? You couldn't find a greater forum for controversy and disagreement - unless it is religion.

Let's stick to vintage photos of cars, people and how things used to be. Great material just keeps pouring in.

Somebody asked why the penmanship was so bad on these early pictures. My understanding is that this was scratched into the negative before it was fused, so it had to be done with a wire because of the chemicals.

It was also done in reverse, which is why you often see some letters backwards.
