Hoping the weather will be clear so I can go. Would like to know of places to take the girlfriend to dinner while in Dubuque. Any suggestions like a local steak house or brew pub?

I will second this. If you're after something a little more low key, try the 3 Mile House. It is in Wisconsin. Both are only minutes from downtown.

How about 11 AM Saturday in front of the art auction stage in Building B (car show building)? I left extra room in front of the stage for the art auction so we should have room to meet there and not block any aisles.

The only thing that sucks is my 49 leaks quite well (i found out last year at the heartland nats) so I'm hoping it doesnt rain I have a 3 hour drive. It would suck in the rain...but I'm ready either way

    Vintage Drag Racing
Tri State Raceway in Earlville IA - right off Route 20. All cars are welcome at this event in the special cruise in area. Please respect the VINTAGE aspect of the day and allow only the qualifying cars make passes at the Tri State Raceway.

Vintage drag racing at Tri-States in Earlville which is about 35-40 miles west of Dubuque on Highway 20. I heard Roger "Radar" Lectenburg wil be there making exhibition runs with his nostalgia nitro FED. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks for the vote of confidence Jamoke -
it's so funny how people get so freaked out about the weather.....
First year of Torque Fest - 4 inches of rain and a tornado.
Every year we have had 60% chance of rain - it's just what you have to expect in May.
Last year at Greaserama there was a hurricane hitting all day on Saturday.
Many may not remember - but that was record attendance. Bottom line - the diehards committed to going to the event rain or shine.
Our bands are under grandstand or tent except for stage 3.....
the vendors and swap are almost all inside or under overhang.
I also recall Meltdown Drags the second year.....rain all morning-but everyone waited long enough to wait out the rain....
Nothing we can do about it....hope people will still come out and make the best of it.

  21. .

Jo Kerr and I are still making the trip regardless of the weather - but we prefer dry and warm.

We'll settle for dry though. ;)

Only bad juju from the hot rod gods could keep us away.

    See ya there Thursday evening.

Said Terrible Beasty is in such an open unfinished state, the rain will definitely keep her home. It's common sense. But just TRY to stop me from comming and having a blast!!!

I've been doing this for 30 years if you have to wait and see if the weather is ok to do something you will never get any where in life deal with it and have a good time I know I will

You're adorable! There's a few common sense things I can do to enjoy my family life for at least the next 30 years-one of which is to not do any more uncontrolled donuts in the rain on the highway at speed! :)
