Pretty sure this is the Murdoch family, from Pasadena. They drove that Packard from LA to NYC in 25 days in 1908.

Love the 60s photos... especially the trophy winner on his go-kart! Always wanted one like that when I was a kid, but now I'm too old and fat to play with one myself. Maybe one for the grand kids... :)

IIRC, Kathleen Turner was the voice of Jessica Rabbit. This isn't her :)

425hp - not this car. The emblem on the fender depicts a 327ci (small block) engine. Maximum horsepower small block engines in 1966 was 350!

  17. You are correct! They used early Vicki photos as the model for the cartoon character of Jessica. BUT, Jessica did have two voices....Kathleen and Amy Irving..according to Google.

These are just two of the many images that we have up in a post on The Old Motor, where you can learn all about the history of the traffic light.

SWI: Gary, THANKS for these! I sure miss Farmer Gal and Grandma who both used to show the unique 1950s interior decor/decorating. That was a wild, kooky time, taste-wise; but at the same time, it was a style that was attractive in its own way! Sure never will come back!

There should be a museum. Is there?

Kind of the average Mr. & Mrs. America's flip side to the Googie architecture that was so popular on business buildings (drive-in restaurants & theaters, e.g.) after the war and all through the '50s. I'm no architect or artist, but that's just a layman's POV.
