Features 41-48 Ford and Merc Picture Thread!

Discussion in 'Traditional Customs' started by nitrobrother, May 1, 2013.

  1. I looked to see if there was a thread already and didn't come up with one that had any activity over the last year. How about a thread for 1946, 1947, and 1948 Fords done up traditional style? These weren't hot-rodded a lot, but there were a lot of mild and full customs. Coupes, convertibles, sedans...what have you got?

Edit: Let's expand our net to include Mercs and the 1941-1942 cousins.

Edit 2: No trucks/panels, etc.! There are other threads for those!

To start thing off, I found this one whilst surfing the Interwebs...Bud Unger's '46:

Here's on my buddy used to own, sold it to help fund a '36. Heard to new owner has made some heinous changes to the old girl :(

I sure do! It's on the cover in color, but it looks colorized. A real photo would be cool.
I will definitely steal that taillight idea, haven't seen that anywhere else.

  19. Silent Rick, like this one? Also the Revell 1/25 kit of the 48 Ford custom has seperate fade away fender pieces if the builder wishes to use them. Second pic is of the model.

Bill DeCarr's '41 Merc comes to mind.

Some of the Ayala built cars would also qualify.

I'm in....Not a custom, but a bona-fide 60's hot rod down to the original flat motor and three on the tree. More fun than my o/t Vette any day.....

  23. Sorry 'Mo, I was still looking for 46-48's. For some reason there seem to be a whole lot more 41-42's that have fade-aways.

I never thought they needed much. I'd take this one with a '49 Cadillac V8 lashed to the Ford three-speed.
