Brad, just saw on NHRA's page that the southern nationals have been moved to next weekend. Do you have a reschedule date in mind yet?

HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR MAY 10-11

UPDATE: The Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals has been postponed due to rain. The race is scheduled to be completed next Friday and Saturday, May 10-11.

Sportsman classes will be allotted one time trial run before going into eliminations. The Professional classes will have qualifying sessions at 2 and 4 p.m. on Friday and begin final eliminations at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

I am working on a solution with the track.

I have two options: roll with it, or let it roll over me. Since I'm not the lay-down-and-die type, I'll figure something out.

Ahhhhh rain! Its been raining for 24 hours at least.

 

I guess my fall back plan will be to run up to Paradise next Sat. But the long term weather forcast for that doesn't look promissing.

 

Dumped 3" from the rain gauge.

 

The Gear Jam, and Cruisin' Commerce, have been postponed. We are working with the NHRA to reschedule the event.

DOM, the track is owned by the NHRA, along with Indy, Gainsville and Pomona so Brad has to do what he can. It blows for sure but hopefuly everything will work out. Keep us posted Brad.

The Gear Jam vintage drags, traditional rod n custom show and swap meet, has moved to Saturday, September 28, with Cruisin' Commerce held on Friday night, September 27 from 6-10pm.

I will keep my eyes peeled for this one. I don't know whether to set up at paradise this saturday or just work. I have to build some cash for the wagon and Bowling Green

 

Right now the weather doen't look good for anything this Sat. If the weather man is right, NHRA wont be able to run Sat ether.

 

I am sorry things worked out like it did for your event, i will do my best to attend with the new date. As of now we are still on go for the paradise drag strip "show & go" nostalgia drag meet, car show & swap meet in Calhoun, Ga. this saturday, You may want to come early, this place packs out. Far out. That's close to my Birthday. Sounds like a PARTY!! In the bigger picture, if it had to rain, better that it happened this way.

The new date sounds great Brad, glad you got it settled so promptly. Always tough to put all that effort into promoting a date and then get kicked off the date because someone else got rained out!

I'm not too upset with the date change. I broke my steering column last Saturday night, so the change is working for me!
