Cooling the Charge on a Supercharged Racing Duesenberg: The spectacular multi-piece casting seen in our photo of Fred Winnai’s supercharged Duesenberg Special is an air to air intercooler. Learn all about it and the Duesenbergs three wins at the brickyard. Below is one of a two page article on the intercooler, see the other along w/an article about the supercharger on The Old Motor.

We're burying my brother in law's father on Monday. Seeing all those images of heavy bombers it made me want to find out more about him. He won the Distinguished Flying Cross in the Battle of Britain as a tail gunner in a Halifax Bomber. E.C. Priest was one of the quietest blokes you could meet but the truth is he was a real hero as most tail gunners were hosed out of their planes.

The 1907 New York Motor Club Run: Seen here is a Pope-Hartford and a American Berliet (Alco) at the start of the run of 208 miles from New York City to Albany, New York. We have full info on the run along with another photo of a different Pope-Hartford in front of the A. Elliot Ranney Agency. See much more on The Old Motor.

Detroit Auburn / Cord Sales and Service: We have an interesting post up about this dealership in the Motor City. In addition to it are full details of the new and exciting front wheel drive L29 Cord. See both on The Old Motor.

From "The Song Remains the Same" - Bonham driving Clive Skelton's TF at Santa Pod. The movie also shows him driving a C-cab.

Was suprised to see Pontiac Firebirds being assembled on the same line as a Chevrolet Impala

  18. ^^^ I found it interesting to see that the whole drivetrain was assembled on the Camero/Firebird before the body assembly came down. So even though there was no frame as such, the assembly process was still much the same.

  19. This just looks wrong somehow...
