    Anyone use their fan ?
This company sells a THIN /high cfm fan that fits in tight space.

I spoke with company ; and yes it's motor is from China. He said the motor/fan is used in U.S Military vehicles and is designed very well. ???

I don't know anything about specifically their brand, but over the years I have not had the best of luck with any thin motored electric fans. It seems that to get a good, long lasting fan the motor needs to be large enough to do the job and since the motor is always the thickest part of the fan assembly when they make a thin one it compromises the overall quality.

When I ran various thin fans on my 27 I would get just about a year out of each one, regardless of the brand. But when I finally made room for a fatter motored fan from SPAL, by going to a shorter water pump, I was able to put one in there that lasted much longer. The one I have is now 5 years old and is still performing like the day I installed it.

The fatter motored ones also seem to have more CFM's because they are able to make those motors more powerful, I think. Just thought I would toss that info into the mix.

I think Cooling Components changed hands in recent years. Not 100% sure and not saying that's necessarily good or bad, just sayin'.

I`ve been using them for the last two years when I could not run a traditional mechanical fan and have had no issues to date.
I have one of each running and see no difference in performance between the thin and standard motor size.

Walker used to own Cooling Components until recently and they were a quality product. With new ownership I would expect the same.

  11. Can't speak to their specific product, but I use a pair of Zirgo brand pushers in front of a Griffin radiator with great success. Haven't had any issues with relays, fans, etc. the whole time.

My recommendation is to buy EVERYTHING from the same source, i.e. relays, switches, senders, etc.

My new favorite fan brand. I have installed two of their fans and I am a convert from SPAL and Maradyne. CCI fans are very powerful - use a 70amp relay, very quiet - much quieter than Spal and fit where no others of comparable draw will fit. I have standardized on these for all builds. I believe that olscrounger here on the HAMB has fitted no less than seven of these to various 1940 Fords and like me says this is the only way to go. You cannot compare them with Zirgo - which are the usual cheap crap you get from Hoffmann Group companies. Griffin radiators suck big time in my experience after going through three where the cheap epoxied tubes separated from the top tank and the radiators became non repairable junk. Fact: aluminum radiators were originally developed for weight savings in race cars and that's where they should stay. They do not cool as efficiently as copper and brass. CCI fans are in a different league from Zirgo and other generic Hecho in China no name brands. There are good products that come form China and the CCI fan motors are one of them. When you compare fans remember that many claimed ratings are pure bullshit with no basis in reality. If a fan does not draw the amps it cannot suck (or blow) the cfm. So a fan that draws 16-18 amps is not going to pull a claimed 2600 cfm. You need amps - lots of em, and you may want to upgrade your alternator if your fan draws a lot of current - my .02c based on years of experience and many phantom claims by suppliers. And while your at it, Evans non glycol based coolant allows you to use a non pressurized cooling system, does not promote electrolysis or corrosion of dissimilar metals - that's aluminum to you and me - and has a boiling point of 375˚F. Efficient cooling is an obsession with me....

I have had good luck with CCI products, but then, unlike HRP, I have not had problems with a properly selected and installed electric fan from several suppliers such as Spal. I do prefer CCI.

I always look for a Spal fan first, but then if they don't have what I need the second choice is always cooling components. They work well, good quality, I use Spal more due to their located in Iowa.

So kinda pushing this a little off topic but if you were trying to cool an engine with a/c and you had a choice between a slim fan with a shroud as a puller or the same size diameter fan with a regular size motor pushing? Both scenarios have an a/c condenser, two row aluminum radiator and all the proper sheet metal in place to direct the air.

I assume by thin you mean around 2.625 inches? Another option to compare the CCI unit to would be Derale. They also have the 2.625 thick fan. I used one in a 36 Ford but sold it a couple of months later so I don't have any long term exp. to offer with the Derale unit. It did move a lot of air and was less money.

That's what I configured in my '40 Ford - got rid of the pusher mounted on the a/c condenser - this blocks air flow and the car ran hot - and replaced it with a CCI puller with a shroud. IMO if you have to run a pusher it will never cool as well as a puller of the same amps/cfm and a shroud makes a major difference. I have a 302/5.0 Ford installed with the stock firewall - no recess and have plenty of clearance with the CCI fan/shroud combo. I used the CCI dual speed controller as it was discounted when purchased with the fan....

Have used many with no issues in 40's with walker radiators--doing the 10th 40 now with this setup--always work well--all these 40's have a.c. as well-fan runs from trinary switch triggered by heat, a.c. and a manual override- (always use a 70 amp relay)-some of these 40's been on the road for 7-8 years--no issues

I have one on my Convert for over 166k and have had NO issues. The one on my 47 Chebby had 110k on it before I sold it. Wouldn't use anything else.

I'm still dealing with Dave, even under the new ownership, great guy to deal with.
