You definately need a T spring in the back to get the right stance, did you get a stock Model A width front axle or did you go wider, it look like the wheels and tires stick out some? Overall looking good!!!

It is a 36 ford axle in te front. Same width as a factory a. It looks alot better in person. The tires sit inside the front fenders nicely . The rear needs some attention. I may go with a model T spring or I may revers eye the one I have and also remove 3 leaves

Good luck with that. I once went through a whole bucket of cores to find enough to make 4. There are re-pops available but very priceeeee! The Ford stores have kits to convert to tubular shocks that are nice and affordable. They bolt on A's.

My experience with the new sealed model A shocks is that they don't work that great. One of mine blew out within a year..... Your car is a badass hotrod and you have fenders and have it lowered I'd go with F1 mounts and tubes. It would be about the same price ,look great, and work better... Just my 2c's Love your car!!!

im just not sure if i can bring myself to install the tube shocks! :)
2 of mine are in great shape. the other 2 are real tight. i may tear em apart and see what i can do with them. i like the look of the factory style.
and i know no one would ever see them, but i would know they are there.

    thanks for the comments!

I got some more parts today . I've been waiting on these till I got the stance in the front right .... I think I'm going to reverse the brackets ( like in the picture below) so my wishbones sit inside further to clear steering arm more. And I can lift the floor board to grease them. With the fenders they won't be Sean and clear everything.

Just found this thread! This is one seriously cool build. I love what you're doing here! I am having many of the same "challenges" along the way. I cheated with the engine clearance - moved the front cross member forward for more clearance at the front. Still close for the breather stack though - I "leaned" on the firewall a bit and got just the little extra clearance I needed.
I'm also right at the point of getting my AV8 moving under it's own power for the first time - a very exciting stage.
Congratulations on an excellent car and build thread!

Bert's Model A in Denver Colorado can rebuild them if you have good cores. I have used later '33-'34 shocks and welded on the model A balls so I could use the dog bones.

On my AV8 I had to chop up a set of F1 mounts to clear the fenders and run the tube shocks. They work great and almost bolt into the original lever shock holes.

I can shoot a couple of pictures if you want me too, they turned out nice.

Thanks! It is def a challenge. It's easy but its not as easy as some Poeole say.. Alot of guys use different parts from different years and they claim it works but it doesn't. Ha it's alot of fun. I was rushing my ass off wanting it done... Then I just chilled and made sure it was right. I struggled with alot of things on mine because I did not have the resources that most people did. But I had alot of help from Dave carter, Russco, an several others. And it sure helped! I will help ya out anyway i can, pm me if I can help

I'm jealous man! I can just hop on your thread when I need a fire lit under my ass. I can't wait till mines to that point. If I can move 1/4 as fast as you I'd be happy, but as you know I started w worse and know less. But it'll get there. Ill have to run it out your way once its road worthy.
