Could be an easy picture to fake. A child lying flat underneath. The chair would have to have space below the backrest. I hope that was the case.

 

What does the post, #72527, have anything to do with the intent of this thread or this entire website? Let's not turn this into a socio-political thread.

Loving this thread more all the time.I have a question about the"Ghost Car".

First two pictures are of the results of a tornado that hit Carswell Air Force Base in Texas, September 1, 1952. Most of the B-36 bombers were returned to service (only one was scrapped), but the devastation was a wake-up call for the Air Force, which realized how vulnerable its strategic bombers were to a nuclear attack. They began dispersing bombers and improved early warning to reduce the possibility of a sneak Soviet bomber attack doing much worse!

 

If you're referring to the clear plastic Pontiac that appeared several pages back, it still exists and is in a private collection today.

Thanks for posting this picture of a 1958 Desoto Firemite! I had not seen this one before. I can tell by the picture that it is the early vacuum formed plastic body not the later Fiberglass body that replaced it after the plastic bodies were starting to break up.
The sign on the side says Dewey Hendrix: Miss fat stock show: Galena Park 1965

Some research shows the picture was taken in Houston, even though the sign says 1965, i am sure the photo was taken in 58 because the body would not be in that good of shape by then. have one I know! Note that the rear hubcap is missing

Edit: DEWEY-HENDRIX MOTORS was the Desoto dealership in Galena Park in 1958
