Your project was very well do***ented, photography was 1st cl***, the work was professional.... owner was happy....what more could anyone want?? Green cars for green guys, red cars for red guys. Same same for Ford/Chev/Mopar fans. My opinion is to ignore the fools who sit in their pajamas and throw shoulda's and coulda's over the internet.

I am building a sectioned shoebox and love your approach to a subtle chop...(I'll be studying your work for the next time I get the hots to chop my box :))

Thanks for taking the time to do***ent!!

This is gonna sound a little like a "back handed" compliment, bit normally I hate chopped cars! Yet I just read your entire thread, and if I ever decided to do a chop on one of these, this is exactly how I would do it. I too am sick and tired of the WAY over chopped & fastbacked '49-'51s the younger guys all seem to build these days. I still believe it's the mini truck bravado deal where it's a matter of "he chopped his 4". so mine will be 6...". It's made for some damn weird looking "customs" built in the last decade or so and kinda driven me away from liking customs at all. This is a very tasteful rearrangement of the stock proportions that just makes the car look better, not different. Well done!

Oh, I'm hoping that the ride height is at it's final stance, too! Some how another thing that has pervaded late custom builds is the notion that everything HAS to have a "corn belt" rake...

HA! I understand all of that 100%. That is exactly why we are doing it just like this. Tired of the strange looks, over use of filler, and general loss of taste during a chop. They don't have to be hammered to look good. Some cars chopped this way ( different body styles and mfg's ) just don't look right. Like a merc. I can say there is really only one way to chop one of those. But we thought this was a tasteful alternative. And yes, ride height will be close to this. It will recieve an air system. but NOT to lay it "down in the weeds". Rather to have the good ride the air can provide. But that is for the build thread later on...

Thanks for the interest and kind words

I appreciate you taking the time to post this information.

I looked at 10 different ways of chopping a shoebox before I chopped mine.

I like your chop, very subtle, and the rear seat occupants won't have to bend over :)

I had a customer bring me a 46 ford for a chop from oregon once. You can make it! OR I can meet you 1/2 way. Whichever. And we do work on payments. Only ask for 1/2 up front... come on! You know you want to!

That looks great, just right not overly chopped like most you see. Makes me want to go out and buy a shoebox ford.

Cool! They can be a fun car. And with the tech treads we have out there for one, 2 just this time, you could make a really cool car!

Thanks for the compliments. It really means a lot.

Things you have to do when you have 6am-6pm day job. We just wanted to show that this job could be done even by someone who works all the time.

Full time job and chop a top on top of that did very nice job plus you did a write up!Good job! Having to stop and take pictures is a pain when you are in the zone when you are working.Photos sometimes stop the flow of work for me especially late at night.

That's so true! We had to keep reminding ourselves to take some. We had a camera on a tri-pod ready to go at all times. Thanks for the compliments!
