Went to the Springfield show today. Lots of identical off topic cookie cutter cars, but there were also some nice tastefully done traditional rods and kustoms. Here are some shots of my personal favorites:

That T-Bird was a steal. Somebody bought it for $7500!! I didn't even know it was for sale or I would have been trying to get it.

Also, It should be illegal to leave the fender skirts and hubcaps on a T-Bird like that.

Saw that T-Bird on a trailer headed south on I-69 near Ft Wayne Indiana on Friday. What a steal!

That thing was killer, I think it was my favorite car of the show.

That bird was fantastic. It had a Bonneville speed weeks sticker in the windshield from 63. Thanks for putting a pic of my car on there too, I'm glad traditional rods still can be appreciated.

  13. I'm drawing a blank on the guy's name, with the flamed '40 coupe. I talked to him, quite a bit, at the 2012 Pete and Jakes open house. He told me that him and his twin brother painted those flames in his brothers garage, with rattle cans! I need to find the card that he gave me, so I can remember his name. Real nice guy.

  14. Thanks for taking the time to post these...good shots.

The Springfield show is my favorite NSRA event. The fairgrounds are nice for crusing, people around the Springfield area are very friendly, it might rain one day, but the weather is normaly O.K. I couldn't make it this year, maybe next year

I was only there Saturday, but it was a good day. Basic Bob here on the H.A.M.B. owns the red t-bird. Sam

Me and a couple buddies made a fast trip up Friday to pickup a Model A frame, it's only the second time I have been there for the mini Nats but have been going for years to the Swap Meet in August and I agree the fairgrounds are top notch.

bchrismer, is Dave Johnson from the K.C. area? Doesn't he also have a black 33-34 roadster with a early hemi?

  22. Dave lives up near Troy, MO, and yes, he does have the black roadster.

I thought so. There were some nice post 48 rides there. Sure enjoyed hearing the history of your truck and getting to meet you.

  24. I've been a pretty vocal critic of their choice to go to a rolling 30 year rule, but like you said, there were some very cool late models there. I'm always a sucker for station wagons, and there were some REALLY cool wagons represented out there.

As you could tell, I always have a great time talking about the truck. I have to admit, I was blessed to be born into a family of old car nuts. My aunt and uncle were of the restoring variety and my dad is an all around car guy. His skill isn't the building of them, it's in the tearing them apart. His '32 sedan has been in pieces since before I was born!

Give me a head's up if you guys plan to come down to the Queen City Riot weekend after next.
