  9. Was Hillman affiliated with Ford, or did Hillman just like the '55 Ford styling enough to copy it?

    The grille does look like Ford, but Hillman at that point was styled by Raymond Loewy's design group and influenced by the contemporary Studebakers. Not easy to tell from that angle but look at the side view of one next to a mid-fifties Stude four-door and it shows.

    Whats the scoop on the front wheel drive GMC in the background ,,, She a Runner ?

    So i was sitting hear this morn checking out the thread's on the sight hear when the little Lady "On her way to work" walked behind me and said " By the way,,,, Since your back's felling better I would really like to get at my rubarb this year if you don't mind". Kind'a forgot I guess, Now I cant find the stuff.

    Hell,,, Where did that 3 years go anyway hay ?

    And she said she don't like Worms,,,, Hell,,, She's got cans of em.

    I believe it's an Airstream not a GMC and yes as far as I know its a runner.

  17. There's also a 58-60 Lincoln barely that's barely visible beyond the DeSoto in the photo.
    Was it too dangerous to snap some photos of it?;)

    There were a lot of British cars that had similarities with the american cars. Our cars seemed to be about 5 years or so behind you though.The second car down in the pics is a Humber Hawk and it has very similar styling to a 55 chevy . Pretty much all the major manufactures followed the American styling in some way or another.
