  4. That color is killer and its a step away from the common.

That's what I'm going for with this whole car, Jeff, a step away from common, but still traditional.

That's a nice looking steering wheel but you can always keep the one that's on car and go with a Camaro Gold paint job. LOL
Just kidding around but seriously, that new wheel would look great on your 46.

Nose that hood, that way it matches the rear being decked.

  22. I like the 2nd blue myself I think is has more pop to it. The first one looks too everyday GM/Ford color to me not something luxury but that is just my opinion. I am struggling with color choice right now as well. It is tough:eek:.

Good day, your car has come a long way and is looking great.
I also just picked up a 1946 FleetLine with a 1957 235 engine that was rebuilt. It has a closed line tranny. The original rear end and drive line were missing. We came across a 1972 rear end off a Monte Carlo. This is my first true 40's build and I am learning a lot from my friends. How difficult will it be to adapt these two different devices to make it run. They tell me the gear ratio on the 72 will make the 235 run better. I have a friend offering a rear end from a 1942, not sure on the gears. I'd like to keep everything original and take it out on the road asap and show her off. [IMG]

Well with the closed driveline transmission you cant use an open drive transmission.

In my car I used a rear end out of a '71 Camaro with 2.73 gears.
It does great on the highway but is a little bit slow around town.

If I were you I would keep the 235, but put an overdrive transmission (t-5 out of an s10) and low gears in an open rear end (I had 4.11s and they were great).

    I hope that helps.

Aaron your car looks very very cool. Really it must be a tough choice on the colour. The 1st blue is probably my choice or the green. My wife likes the burgundy but what does she know!! :D

I sure am looking forward to building mine along very similar lines as yours. Keep up the great work!!

sanding bondo sucks though I reckon. don't you ? lol

Those pictures almost make me miss that car....I know without a doubt if you didnt get it, it would never get finished. Poor thing would have been driven into the ground.

I cant wait to see what it looks like smoothed out. Kinda like a fantasy coming to life for me.

Thank you Aaron, from the bottom of my heart.
