Event Coverage ~~~"Bad Bob's BBQ" 2013 June 1st ~~~

Don't be mad at me....but I don't remember your HAMB name! Sorry....thanks for coming though!

 

Had 18 cars entered in the Hotwheel race. Dimitri's mom and dad had to leave and didn't make it back in time for the races,so they scratched.
Even my friend Nick stopped by,chowed some grub,raced,then hit the road. Like an idiot,I didn't get a pic of his 60 El Camino....thanks for coming Nick.

 

The racing was close!

 

So......Phil is sitting down eating. I'm signing everybody up for the races. "Phil,did you bring a car?" "No.i'm not racing." I look over at Craig,CW's40tpu, "You bring a car?" "Yes i'm racing!"
Phil..." I'm good...that's okay."
Then Eric shows up,Chevy54,with a bag full of .97 cars. "Here Phil,you're racing."
The racing starts...Phil's kicking everybody's ass,and wins the $100!
Lucky bastard!!! and I mean that in most loving way,haha...

 

JustplainJ shows up about 3:30....only a hand full of us left and wants a burger. Gotta love that guy!
He had to stop off on the way at a car show and win Best Closed Hotrod!
At least he showed up! Always great to be insulted by a close friend! haha! Thank you for coming anyways when it was late. Good seeing Sean too!

 

It was a small turnout,but that's not what it's about. Hanging with great people,telling stories,and racing some Hotwheels....PRICELESS!

There was just too many other things going on today. Hell,I hate missing the other events myself.
Thanks again for sharing my birthday BBQ with me...

 

You must be new! haha I take my time and tell a story....Hope you enjoyed it.

 

Just realized I didn't get a picture of Chevy54's ride! OOPS! Glad you and Michelle made it.
Worn Shoes came in the daily with his family. Dante,Low Springs,brought his two boys. They went crazy with the track after the races were over.

 

Heres a few of Erics from another year so he doesn't feel left out! thanks again Bob, Had a great time.. will be back next year!

 

Thanks for the BBQ!! I'm still bummed my Hot Wheels Batmobile failed me on my first race. LOL!! Oh well.

This was my first time at one of BB's BBQ's and he said it right . great people , cool stories and some good food , and Kerrys' potato salad is on the money !!

The BBQ was great! Eric's 54 is a total work of art! It was great to meet all you guys and your families. Hard to get tired of the 52,hell they all rocked! The food was awsome and great location.

 

Hey, us Chevy guys gotta look out for each other!.. and don't forget what we were talking about... i want to see the 54 with some So Cal flake by the next BBQ!! haha! Good to see you buddy.. see you in a few weeks..

 

Some flake would send it off the Cool chart right next to yours!

 

I gotta start making plans to be stateside so I can finally go to this.

Sorry I couldn't make it Bob, but I already registered for AlteredPilot's Rod & Kustom Show. Besides, it would give his wife a chance to see the old '52. Funny, she waited for me by the car and asked me to let Mitch know if it was ever for sale. I told her I already told Mitch it was for sale. She grabbed her husband and said "We have to talk!" (gulp!)

I tried to post my pics on that thread but Photobucket changed. Now I have to figure it out (sigh).

 

So....did they buy it back? Photobucket changed ,so I don't use it any more...

 

The 66 Batmobile won a few years ago! That's racing!

 

You should have stopped! We hung out til about 4pm. We still had plenty of food...

 

I hope you come again next year,Phil. I love the stories...that does it for me.
Can't get enough of you car. And the fact that you drive your Hotrod more than guys I know with a fraction of the investment. You can't be affraid to drive em....or they just become poodles! haha

I haven't back from Mitch, but I overheard his wife telling him to sell the '57. Since she's pregnant, I told her the '57 4 door would be better for a family.

 

Bob, thanks for warming up the BBQ...sorry we ran so late but I promised Sean last year I would go to the friends of Steve McQueen car show and glade we did not just because we won but it's a very well done one day car show and worth being at...
