2013 Thompson Gasser Reunion

Just wanted to spread the word that there will be a 8.50 Index (quarter mile) at this years event. Pre-73 cars with no box qualify. 400 pro-tree racing.

and of course the Grand Marshall Candy Clark of American Graffiiti
May 31st- June 1st

Is there any racer info on this event? Gate times, entry fees, class, rules..

Can I buy a vowel?

I have been all over google and the TRP website and no detail at all for the racers. Anybody know who is in charge of this race and can answer some basic questions?

 

Everything just has been posted on the web site today.

 

Not really... they now show gate times and entry fee but nothing about rules, classes, payouts ect...

I tried calling the number posted on the website and it goes to an automated answering service that tells you what the racing is this coming Wednesday then sounds like it hangs up on you. The funny part is the guy tells you to go to the website for more info...LOL

Kind of a shame. This track is located in a nice spot for some old friends and relatives that live in that area that would like to see my car run. However, for me to tow 4-5 hours one way and not know what I am in for when I get there, I can't afford to gamble on it. I guess I may have to come up with a different plan.

 

Yes, you are right they should do a little better on the classes,rules and payout. I will see if I can get a little more info.

I was told they were going to update the site after I expressed your and many others concerns. We will see.

 

Ahhhh... 48 hours before I am leaving and we finally get a small clue on the rules. TRP website has a bit more info today.

Still no payout info. Mentions "period correct gassers must be approved" Who does that and what is the criteria?

 

Don't sweat the small stuff and come have fun. I'm sure they do a payout based on car count.

 

Right... well we are loaded and coming mainly because I have promised some folks we would be there. Hopefully things go well.

There were some showers on Friday later in the day but Saturday was great. Freddy Bear won the AA/GS class driving the K.S. car that was in black primer. He's the man

 

who didn't know that,we all cancelled ,though it would rain weather man said 70% rain,now i'm bumed out

 

You just never know with the weather at Thompson.
