I need the H.A.M.B. members help on this one. I own a 28 Ford Pickup currently under re-construction and I have been admiring the work done on an identical truck by “Steves Auto Restorations” in Portland Oregon some years ago. The truck underwent a body makeover and was returned to it’s owner in Alaska. Here is the link to the project page: http://www.realsteel.com/projects/1929-model-a-pickup/
My delema is that I’m trying to find out the wheel and tire size used on the truck as I think they are a perfect fit. No one at “Steves” can help me with the information as it was some years ago that they worked on the truck. I have tried blowing up and enhancing the pictures but I am unable to make out sizes.
Anyone know the owner or whereabouts of this truck or the wheel/tire info I need? Any help, leads, whatever would be greatly appreciated!

I expected a wheel and tire question. I'm confused.

I’m hoping someone who reads this can direct me to the truck to find out the tire size.

You didn't ask that. You should go do an intro.

Maybe a hamber knows who's truck it is and can get in touch with the owner...

  6. I think that pickup was featured in Street Rodder magazine a couple of years ago.

I can tell you exactly what they are.
The fronts are 1940 ford 16x4 steelies with 4.75 Firestone bias plys, and the rears are 16x5 ford steelies with 7.50 Firestone bias plys.
Don't forget to get the rings and caps.

I'm glad somebody remembers what the HAMB's editorial direction is supposed to be.

Right. The really bad thing, other than those wheels and tires, is that when people post stuff that is OT and don't like the answers we give, is that it makes us looks like a bunch of dicks. Oh. Sorry.

Are you saying I don't like the answers? I'm just asking for a little help with this....
thought someone might recognize the truck.... didn't think I was asking to much.

  13. Wheels look like American Torq Thrust II's. I'd guess 16x6 front and 18x8.5 rear.

You might have better luck inquiring on a less traditional "street rod" site, or find a copy of a mag that showed it. Just sayin'.

Figured if I could find the size tires I would know the height. Thats all I'm interested in. Can change over the height to more traditional tires. Just like the way they fit the wheelwell.

  15. There is a photo search app (I think) that might help you locate a mag feature from the SAR pics.
