Features Falcons done right?

Fibreglass flip front? Tube chassis? I don't have the time or the inclination, but I always liked the idea of a two door wagon in that shape. Shame they were never sold in Australia.

 

What did you do on your headlights? Car looks great, nice and clean.

 

That white Futura is beautiful.

 

Couldn't work inside anymore with the mess, so hooked up the receiver winch and pulled the Falcon out to do a thorough cleaning. Took a couple pics before pushing it back in to start pulling the engine for the build. Then I'll finish the firewall and paint everything in the engine bay before dropping the engine back in.


Might be a driver in a month or two!

The one listed is for a sedan , they stock these for a lot of early cars and pickups so I'm sure if you contact them they will have a coupe one . The Aussie XM-XP Coupes use same rear window as your Futura . The car in the photo is an Aussie XM Futura Coupe .

My Falcon got new (old) shoes!!!

They are 15x6 and 14x6, 60's Cragar GT wheels. I had to restore them and after a tip from this site, I used Easy-Off oven cleaner for 20 minutes to get the correct patina on the bare spokes. Then, I mounted them on the back of my car (one at a time) while on jack stands. With the engine running and in drive, I slowly polished the lips with different grades of sandpaper.

 

I already said this once on TFFN, but those mags look awesome. You have great choices for rolling stock.

its not "done right" yet but it still done alot better than with the previous owner. my 63' two door sedan (more better pics once the engine is finished)

 

I posted about this car a while back - Just about to start driving it as soon as I can get it to idle properly

All other details required to drive have been sorted out well enough.

I am thinking about switching the wheels out to a set of painted steelies - widened in the back, possibly painted black? Not sure yet.

 

Steelies in body color (aged to match to faded paint), or even black would look great on that car! Can you run a stock hood or would it have clearence issues?

That would be one hell of a sleeper!

It could clear a stock hood with some mild work but I now have a fiberglass one with a molded in eliminator scoop.

The steelies would definitely help with the sleeper angle...all except for the sound of the FE coming out of the flowmasters....

 

...and there is a problem with that......how?

I like the look of that scoop, but a stock hood would be pretty killer as well. Who made that hood? Looking into 'glass hood, deck lid and front fenders for my '65 sedan.

The hood was made locally off of a stock steel hood. From the back you can see how the scoop was built in rather than just grafted on top.

 

I assume you're aware of U.S. Body?

 

Nice looking hood! I plan on duplicating the '66 Comet Cyclone twin scoops into my hood that will serve as functional ram induction for my Paxton Supercharged 289.

You can buy a hood just like that from Crites now ($360)

 

This is actually the AF/X style and I did consider those originally, as well as the eliminator scoop style...but it was just too much scoop for my build.

This is a '66-'67 Comet Cyclone hood seen here on a '65 comet.



Mine will have an air box on the inside to direct flow into the Paxton.
