1. What WAS that when you started? Mercedes Ponton? :p

Post the original pic if you can. I think I can help.

  2. Actually James, it was! How the....?

  3. Ah, I found a different one anyway.
    Here you go...

Lots of work for you making the roof look like this. A lot of reshaping on the C pillars to get a curve into them, although I didn´t chop the front or rear screens - just laid them down a bit. I guess this is something like what you were after?

    At least you tried :)

  5. Dang you work fast! :)What I TRIED too do in the mess I created was chop it a couple of inches, slide the roof forward, lay down the rear window, reshape the leading edge of the c-pillar too the same angle ad the rear glassand extend the sail panel/ catwalk, like you did. I was trying too keep the roof line a little more horizontal. Not that it's easy too see much of that in my Etch-a-Sketch version! Thanks for taking the time, now I got some thinkin' to do!

  6. I think I did lean the roof back a little bit too much, so i do agree with you. It´s not a massive chop though, at the front, anyway and probably helpful if you can get away without cutting the glass.
Be interested to see how it turns out. Do you have the car already?

I was in Bergen last year. Nice place you live.

Here is my shot. When I first started in, I thought this would be easy.
However, every time I altered a panel, I had to rework everything else; never a good sign.
But I kept at it and came up with this.
I left it as a 4-door, so the proportions are still kind of stodgy.

I would be very grateful if anyone could chop the roof, 3 window it or slanted B pillar. Maybe fender skirts and lower too. Love your work guys.

Okay, I'm putting this here, instead of making a thread. I realize it's not a whole pic of my car, but could someone put some WWW's on my T? I'm playing with money I don't have yet and need inspiration to start saving up.

  15. Thanks Rot 'n Kustom, that is pretty close too what i imagined! I think the two-door conversion would take away some of the stodginess. Now i'm definitely inspired. Just need too come up With some way too clean up the grille/ front-end treatment:rolleyes:
James D, Bergen is a very picturesque little town when it's sunny or snowing. Unfortunately it's overcast and rainy most of the time ;)The Mercedes idea is one I've had for a while, but it's currently about nr. 9 on the Project list. They're fairly common here, but I have never seen one customized. I think they're just begging for it!

Could I see this roof done the original Gulfstream Blue: http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?ditzler=12271&page=1&rows=50&size=large
along with the rims showing the same blue around the wheelcovers? (If that's too small a strip, no problem). To go with the roof, long, staggered 2 spoke scallops at the back of the front wheelwells and please, a set of rear wheel skirts?

If the skirts are on, would you still run a rear scallop from the back of the original wheelwell, or can they go from the back of the forward edge of the rear wheelwell? I don't know, I'm asking.

    Thank you very much!

Nice work. I'd have to say Door Number One Monte, of those 3 options.

hi guys ..would any of you like to make some changes to this 55/6 Mercury?

1: I'd like to have the side windows cleaned off but not the rear windsheild, then a bit of a roof chop.

2: I'd love to see one of the 2dr post Mercs with a reasonable section job .Say 4-5ins out of the middle?

The stock proportions of these sedans looks sooo dowdy when compared to the 2dr hardtop versions IMO. They need some help I think :) much thanks in advance ,PB

Time to commit to some caps for the Plymouth.

How about some of the repop style 15" Hollywood flippers?

    Many thanks in advance...

OK, this wasn't a request, but I was wondering how a Willys would look with a longer wheelbase and a mild chop - maybe it could be running a Buick straight-eight?:D
