The English Fords look so out of place amongst the full size stuff. (I had one like this). Interesting to see a couple of Saabs and a Trio of Volvos on the forecourt too.

Just getting through this teriffic thread ... don't know if anyone has commented on this post as yet.

For me it is interesting seeing these items from the 1952 and 1953 Mobilgas Economy Runs which has been an avid interest of mine for over 55 years. The 1953 menu also served as a "program guide" for noting the final results as they were announced after the cars arrived in Sun Valley after a 3-day trip from Los Angeles. Beginning the next year, results would be announced after each day's drive.

The arm-bands were made of felt and used by AAA Contest Board officials as noted by their titiles. The buttons, like the one for Henry J. Kaiser, Jr. were for all participants. He was on hand in Sun Valley for the finish and awards ceremony in what would be the last year Kaiser would compete in the Economy Runs. A four-cylinder Henry J took top honors in the Special Lightweight Class.

At first glance this looked like an early 50's Hudson with a different grille.

  13. Well, I haven't posted much lately, too busy working, but I've finally had time to do a bunch of research, to find more "Vintage Shots" These are from here in British Columbia, mostly from the City of New Westminster.

I believe this one is King George VI in custom built Lincoln K model circa 1939.
