Haha, I wasn't even close!! Thanks for the ID, its Pennant No# H48, a C Class Destroyer. Launched in 1931 and completed and commissioned in 1932 (Does that make it a Deuce?) it first served with the Pommy Navy Home Fleet as HMS Crescent.
Sold to Canada in 1936 and commissioned into the Canadian Navy as HMCS Fraser in 1937.

Naval history isn't my strong point, though I am fascinated with Allied Destroyers after reading J. E. Macdonnell books as a kid. He was an Aussie Navy Gunnery Officer on Destroyers in WWII. After leaving the Navy he became an author and wrote over 200 books, mainly about Destroyers in WWII.

    :rolleyes:Doc:).

    From Doc Watson...

"The pic of the jet being dropped by the bomber is.........er........ I have no idea, have to look that one up but I can tell you the bomber is a B-50, a post war development of the B-29."

Doc, you are THE authority on things aeronautical here, but I have to disagree on the bomber. I flew on RB-50s in the late 50s, and the B-50 had different engines. There was an air scoop on the bottom. I believe the same engines were used on the C-97. I'll try to find a pic.

  30. Did the Germans have jet engines before the US? I think the P-51 was our fastest plane but I am not sure. I think Dago Red is one of the more popular P-51s and one of my favorites mostly because of the name. I think it is named after an Italian wine?
