I am thrilled to announce that we will have the new STEEL 5-window coupe body in our booth at the LA Roadster Show this weekend. We will have two at the show for sale and inspection. This final product has been a long time coming and we think United Pacific Ind. has done an amazing job with it.
That being said, our biggest critics are the consumers and we want as much feedback as possible- both good and bad. So if you are going to be at the show, please stop by the booth and check it out. Tell us what you think and post on here what you thought of it so our far-away friends can get an idea of the final product.

$20,995. That comes with wood, garnish moldings, latches, handles, and complete cowl vent assembly. It does not come with the firewall, dash, or windshield because people will have to decide which ones they want for their application.

Is United Pacific reproducing the two tack strips that go around the perimeter of the roof opening to seal the top material? If so, are you selling these pieces and what is the cost. I have never seen them listed.

  9. Does that come assembled?

UP is currently making the tooling to produce the roof tack strips. For the 1932 5-window it is a 3 piece set all bent and ready to use. For the larger bodies like tudor & fordor, they will sell the tack strip material in bulk lengths.

Yes! The body will come completely welded, assembled, and primered.

  11. Very cool. I love that there is so much talk out there about hot rodding dieing off, and yet companies are still putting forth the effort to do such major projects like this.

Kuedos to UP and all involved!

Looks like the right body, in 5-window, whole lot of work to get to this point,
in producing such a gem. Congrats! And a fair price, for new metal to boot!

I think it looks great, would like to see it in person, but what ive heard so far,..its spot on. I have always liked the 5-window better than the 3

  15. I saw one at Edmonton So Cal booth in early May. I like it very much, but it is only a dream to have one. It would sure beat rebuilding an aged and beat original.

I think the critics forget that most original bodies have been beat to death and would have build flaws far worse than any "inaccuracies" they may find on a new one.

I thought old Vic was a big Made in USA man. Kind of surprising. Wonder what kind of markup is allowed on something like this, not to mention shipping? Could it be made here? Looks pretty nice, good luck, but I like my American Hot Rods to be American made.

the panels are stamped and the basic assembly is done overseas. the final fit, assembly, and welding is done here in California. I can assure you that the quality is there and if you check it out you'll be happy with the final product.

  22. Will you have garnish mouldings there for sale? I need some quarter windows and back window for my coupe.

Yes! I will have a couple sets for sale. If you give me a call at the shop I'll get your information and put some aside for you.

I really can't wait to see this over the weekend. I too can't afford one, but there may a light at the end of the tunnel. I do have to say though that I am happy to hear you refer to the one you had at GNRS as a "prototype" , 'cause I have to admit I wasn't too impressed with the fit of the panels on that one. I know it will be better.

  25. I looked it over at GNSR, very nice piece

  26. Not only is this going to help people fix there thrashed originals but give people that have the cash to get into one & not have to search. I'm broke but hopefully I'll have a customer who isn't someday!

Very nice product. With what is being saved (or attempted to save) from origional tin the timing is right for this. Right here on the HAMB a couple are going together with parts from several bodies to make just one.
There will always be those who gripe about the price but try to put a project like this together and you'll soon see the value. Compared to the Steve's Restoration '33/'34 3w (@ $30,000 and Brookville's '32 3w @ $25,000 I'm thinking they will do all right. Hell, if I can get $25,000 for my gennie body I'll buy one.:cool::D

I checked it out at the GNRS and was impressed. Seems to be priced fairly too. The 80 year old genuine bodies are hard to find and tough to make right again if you aren't the best metal worker in the world. Congratulations on this - well done!

Just where do you think our far away friends from United Pacific are from? Got nothing against equal trading partners, but like to think Hot Rods warrant some buy American. Just who is getting the dough from this, are the fabricators middle class folks like we used to be, with worker's comp and unemployment, soc. sec. etc? In this case, especially with Hot Rods, the ends don't justify the means, at least for me.
