I love the early hinges spliced into the later windshield! The whole car is great.

Check out his thread to see it in motion. It's one of the coolest early style cars around here. There are just a few more built with that early attitude.

Just found here on H.A.M.B. in another thread. Shows how little an A needs to be awesome.

I don't see that as a jalopy, its a complete car minus a hood.

My previous submissions have been more gow-themed than pure jalopy. Here are some jalopies without a lick of hot rod in them.

It's got great proportions, doesn't it? Clean it up, beat the dents out, and get rid of the graffiti and it's got the makings of a very nice mild hot rod.

Awesome pics! Love the tub. But the last one is brilliant. We shall keep the girl though!

The last car is the essence of what I was looking for opening this thread. Absolutley spot on.

I drove my Jalopy in to work again today. Heres a shot of my engine. Excuse the air filter, no one has donated an oil bath yet.

That's the strangest carb linkage I have seen so far. What's the reason for this crazy u shaped thing?

I'd run the line on the firewall til I reach the height of the carb, bent, miece of fuelhose, and continue with the stiff line til carb. Should prevent it from shaking loose. I actually ran a fuelline bent like a C on the right side of the carb cause I was scared that It'll shake to pieces over the exhaust...

Doesn't the fuel cook inside the line that close to the exhaust anyway? Doesn't it run like crap when it's warm?

I have a fuel pressure block that I'm going to bolt to the firewall at the carb level and run straight from there. It has no problems what so ever when hot. The U shaped link is an original Model A Zenith carb rod that I had laying around. Everything else was too short. I just bent it last minute and It works like a charm. The intake is an original Burns manifold and the header was made by some guy from california in the 70s.

  24. 1956. Check out the channel job!!!! My Dads friend in Vancouver B.C. Most everyone up there were slamming their cars to the ground. If you couldn't push a pack of smokes with your front bumper, your car was sitting too high!!!

Not exactly a Jalopy, this carefully built period car sports a Deuce frame, a nice Flathead and other stuff that make it a hot rod. It's been built in Germany somewhen in the 90ies, by 2000 or so it lost his red oxide primer paintjob, and as far as I am concerned the Frame became a 32 5w Coupe Dirttrack racer, the whereabouts of this bitchin' 29 Roadster body with louvered decklid are unknown, but man I'd love to get my hands on it and put it on my Tudor chassis with banger and all to make a pre war car.

Great thread, folks. Here's my thing. Most people seem to call it a jalopy, rather than anything else. It has a stock banger but will get a head, 97, magneto, and sooner or later, a warmer cam.
