The Model T came with minimal lighting. Just enough for you to see the road in front of you. With all of the "Highly Skilled" drivers on the roads these days, being seen is a must! I want to see how some of you have added turn signal lighting and brake lights to your Model T's (or other old rides that didn't come with any). Getting closer to this point in our build so I'm hoping that your examples will give me an idea (or is really great and I'll just borrow it :) )
    So bring them On...

I'll go first for you Billy Bob. When I got my car it had 1950 Pontiac lights in the back. I too wanted more light in the back so I changed over to 1958 Chevy Del Ray tail lights

The benefit of using hand signals these days is that it isn't something commonly seen. People here in Phoenix RARELY actually use turn signals for any other function that to leave them on blinking aimlessly as they weave their way down the road texting. Do something DIFFERENT, and they notice, they have to look, and the trance is broken for a split second or two. This was supported to me a few months ago when I was sitting at dinner one night and some younger girls at a table across from me were being told the tale by one friend of a motorcyclist she saw that was "Waving his hands around at stop lights... What do think it meant?..." They might not have any idea what it meant, but he was SEEN, and that's 2/3rds of the battle.

Model A tail lights and Speedway rectangular mini lights up front.

I have a friend with a shoebox and I was following him, approaching a traffic light. He stuck his arm out and I didn't know what the hell he was waving at. Almost rolled up on him. Then I realized he was signaling to stop. I had to remember my drivers ed. hand signals.

I just made a change to my old tailights,by using the bigger of the two sides, just to get more light out back. But for turnsignals I had to add another bulb, same as I did to my sons 1931 Modal A tailights=they had stock only 2 one fillamint bulbs,so put a new twin in,giving them three fillamint total, brite one for brakes, one for park and one for turn. Toggel switch is out of site but EZ to get to. I found a nice drawing of simple wireing

Thanks for posting. That's a very simple, easy to read diagram.

    I'm seeing Some Great Ideas!

I started with the left arm Idea at first but, based on how poorly the locals here understand it when I'm driving a tractor.. I think we need lights.

Now I need to look at some Lights and figure out how to Mount them..

    Thanks Guys!

I have accessory type lights on the back of my Tee, and some HD indicators for the front.

They are small and I mounted them up on the cowl (kind of like how Models As had them but they are way smaller) as I had issues getting it legal down here with indicators low on the chassis.

Our certification system requires that there is a 45 degree visability and down low, the wheels and tyres blocked them somewhat.

Rarebike... I love those! If I could find a set like that I'd use them!

Gasser... I will not have a problem getting it on the road legally here as it's an "antique" so I don't need anymore safety features then the ones it came with. But I know how bad some of the Drivers are at paying attention around here. Even on the Tractor going 20 Mph they don't see my hand signals.. so any extra blink will help.
