Mounting side-bias ply tires

    Which is the correct or preffered side to mount new bias ply tires on your rim? Dot code facing toward or away from car?

    lol, got it. Guys sent me the right inner tube with the wrong valve stem size, So i have some time to decide

    Dunno, don't think it would make any difference. Guy I used to work for claimed you had to put the DOT mark next to the valve to make balancing the tire easier, tried it there and randomly mounting the tire, didn't seem to make much difference.

    The DOT stamp always goes IN unless you don't like the sidewall on that side of the tire. It just gives a cleaner appearance when you have it mounted. That was one of the first things I learned when I started mounting tires in the 60's.

    i always put the DOT in but it depends on whether or not its a styled sidewall..
