I don't know why there are so many pictures of Marysville, it isn't that big.

This is plain weird. The caption says "This black and white photograph shows a group of U. S. astronauts at Don Horigan's home north of Frankfort, Kansas. The astronauts came to Kansas to hunt on the Horigan farm. Back row (left to right): Neil Armstrong, Stuart Rossa, William Anders, James Lovell and Donald K "Deke" Slayton. Front row (left to right): Kansas native Ron Evans, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, unknown, and unknown." But some of those photos look cut and pasted to me. I'm sure the photo is 1967, but....even then, photos were messed with sometimes.

    This one looks more "real."

"Stuart Rossa, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin in striped shirt, Captain James Lovell in plaid shirt and Donald K. "Deke" Slayton. The men are speaking with flying farmer Lyle Jones of Frankfort, Kansas, at the Don Horigan home north of Frankfort."

1914, not my Grandma who would have been 24 by then and one year from giving birth to my Mom.

:DAlternate Caption No. 1 - "Meet
    Mr. Clarence P. Nerdfurghler Jr.
III...a denizen of the Twilight Zone
and a man, sadly, so utterly and
terminally boring, so nerdy and so
devoid of personality, that even a
    '56 Chevy sedan with whitewall
    tires and an uber-and-ultra snazzy
    chrome-rimmed Continental kit,
    ordered straight from the latest
    J.C.Whitney catalog even, could

    D[ALTERNATE CAPTION No. 2 - "Bert
didn't feel at all good about it and
in his heart, he knew it was probably
wrong,. But Bert was also a 'moral
    relativist', a 'social-Darwinist' and
moreover, he was a realist, albeit with
    some deep seated sociopath-like
    tendencies, and some rather off-putting
    Freudian 'mother' issues. But, now
what with his job and 12-years of
loyal service and seniority down at
    the factory, gone forever, outsourced
to a sweatshop in India - and with the
    bank, practically every day now,
    threatening foreclosure on the already
    way underwater mortgage on the
    family's modest two-bedroom home,
and with 13 kids, all under ten-years
old, to feed and clothe - and now, his
    wife, sweet, beautiful Betty, pregnant
with triplets again, he figured that a
"job is a job" and a "man's gotta' do
what a man's gotta' do" and that
    even working in a mafia-owned
'chop shop', cutting up stolen cars,
many of which he recognized as
    belonging to his friends, neighbours
and relatives even, was still better
    than nothing."

That's a neat pic. I recognized Deke Slayton and Jim Lovell before I read your caption. The two unknown guys probably had some touch-up around their hair so it would not blend into the background.

Great pics today Starwalker!! Especially the Marysville gas stations.

haha scan the picture very, very close to the screen and miss the Corvair!!

  22. The two unknowns have definitely had their heads replace, probably didn't wanna be in the picture for some reason.
