    I just finished.....well got mine on the road and already, I am thinking the next one has got to be a gasser! Nice ride! I checked out your other car at the round-up. Nice ride as well.

    Thanks! Roundup was a blast! Wish I'd had the Falcon done to take there, but just didn't quite work out.

    The swap meet was productive for the build. Found my wheels, but also found many upgrades for the .040" over 454 too!
    Got these painted Weiad valve covers.

    The paint stripped easily, and they look great.

    Picked up my Weiand tunnel ram for $100, and a pair of like new Holley 600cfm vacuum secondary carbs from a buddy for less than half the new price!

    Here's a good pic of the gold shag carpet, crap seats, and general mouse nest interior. Lots of speckling of surface rust all over every metal surface, but it came off easily.

    Trailer springs arrived, but I'll remove the main spring, and add the two longer springs leftover from my Austin's spring pack. Yes, that's the kitchen counter, but they're coming out in a remodel soon! :)

    More swap meet parts for the engine build!

    Pulled up all the carpet and cleaned. Found a couple of rusted through spots, and fabbed some patches.

    A little modification notch to clear the Ranger box, and sleeve for mounting bolt.

    Had to grind out the key notch in the pitman arm, and swing it 180 degrees to work as a front steer.

  14. When I was growing up a Falcon was not a very cool car to own. This one, on the other hand, is WICKED!! I'll bet it's fun, isn't it? :D

    When I was growing up I had an aunt who had a '60 Falcon, and probably 3-4 later on. I always thought of them as cars white haired old ladies drove!
    Yes, it definitely puts a smile back on my face so far!

    The best upgrade to a ford is to put a chevy motor in it!

    Just kiddin, I am a big fan of all types of old cars and motors, esp. the unusual setup between makes and manufacturers. Different and unique is better and your gasser is COOL!

    that chevy will make will make more poop,at half the price of a ford.cool build,like to see a video of the first get busy blast.had a Reath Bulit 427 in a O/T pick-up 4x4.drive shafts were a problem Once,hold on.

    Yes, those 4x4's are pretty hard on driveshafts with the big grippy tires! I've seen guys with big engines in 4x4's really get the tires hopping when they get in the throttle. Can't be good on drivetrain!

    big block in a light car,=E-ticket ride.....enjoy,got mine to hook up with 33-12.50' 15's on the asphalt for a minute,off the road just striaght up badd ass,loved that motor

    This the build up I did to the rear floor to make a base for the cut down '98 Taurus backseat:

    Bent up my 6 point rollbar, with removeable side braces.

    Drilled the front axle with a 7/8" holesaw. Surprised how easy it drilled with plenty of lubricant.

    Engine in, once of several visits to the frame rails!

    Trans tunnel done. Center is removeable for repairs or adjustments.

    Engine back out to clean and paint.

    Engine upgrades done, and heading back into the car.

    Few more pieces completed. Ignore that Fram filter! :) It was on for cam breakin, as I didn't want to waste a good Bosch filter for 20 minutes!

    Got some time in on the Falcon today. Picked up some foam backed foil insulation at Home Depot, and got the floors and firewall covered. The fenderwell headers create a fair amount of heat transfer to the floors, so hope the insulation reduces a lot of it. I doubled it up on the front floors and firewall, then taped all the joints with foil tape also.
    Got the dome light repaired, and a new socket installed so it would work. Then connected up the manual chokes on both carbs. It was a little cold blooded without them, and though it fires right off, it took several re-starts until it didn't die. Once the chokes were hooked up, it stays running, and works great. The idle mixture was WAY OFF on the carbs. Bought the twin 600 Holleys from a friend who barely ran them before figuring they were too much for his 355 SBC, but he must have been tinkering with them. The idle mixture screws were nearly closed off! Opened them up to about 1.75 turns each, and tweaked from there. Really helped the warm and cold idle!
    Taking it out Friday for it's first long cruise, so trying to adjust and double check everything before then!
