It says original parts, not a kit car. Just means its steel.

Yeah, I'm sitting here nursing off dental surgery cruising CL looking to spend money I don't have. haha.

The more I look at this car the more I think it could be an old custom.

  5. Well, it started out as a Model A

  6. Those are 1930 Dodge or 1931 Plymouth/DeSoto front fenders.

Looks as if it was built by someone who really wanted a M.G. TD . Kinda cool......overpriced, though.

  14. It's a special, from my father's era when car guys were car guys and sportscar guys hung out with hot rodders without arguing. Lots of homebuilt stuff back then, some good some not-so-much. Other than the top, this looks pretty not bad-ish IMO. Some guy built it and cared for it for a pretty long time I'm guessing.

Yes it is, One that someone who seriously wanted a sports car but couldn't swing one built himself in his garage.

Finish it off with an era correct color paint job and interior and you have yourself a pretty nice traditional special .

I'd agree with others that said it was more than a little bit overpriced as is though.

On other boards, one would get ripped a new one for not copy/pasting before the c-list goes away....
I would drive the wheels off that....

  21. Wax the fenders?

  22. I would rock the shit out of that. Leather driving gloves and all...

I'd drive that. Not for that price. The "I'm selling this for somebody..." probably means it's listed somewhere else cheaper and this guy's peddling it... IMAO.

  24. I'm curious. Why is it that CL listings are allowed here, yet anything from the other auction site is deleted, at light speed, by the mods?
Not trying to be a smart ass, just wondering?????

Probably because it is actually an interesting topic for discussion and it does meet the requirements for being a traditional build plus the price is pretty well out of line for the car unless someone with more money than sense decides he just has to have it. For me it would be fun as all hell to get it and put it in top shape the way the original builder envisioned.

  26. I sure hope he didn't pay much for that "new top". Looks like an unmade bed
