... and the best 1200,- bucks I've ever spent. So this is my mild custom 50 Mercury I bought last year. It was already lowered, pinstriped and has a somewhat unique paintjob with darkbrown/gold + flames. I am/was not too fond of this, but at the moment 1. there's no cash for a repaint and 2. the paintjob is well done and rather new with only a few small blemishes. And then there were the tires: 205 R75 15 Maxxis from China on 15X7 rims that did not fit inside the fenders and looked like s**t: BAD and FUGLY!!!!! So some months ago - after reading tons of threads here on the HAMB - I got me these: - 15 X 5 rims from Rally America/wheelkid - 6.70 X 15 BF Goodrich 3 5/8 Inch WWs from Coker - 1950-53 Oldsmobile Hubcaps from Hubcaps.com To stay with the paintjob theme I painted the rims a yellowish gold. The rims are perfect, the Coker tires balanced well (Phew!). And I came up with this: Put on the Olds Hubcaps: And finally with fender skirts: That's it!! I am happy as can be. I even start to feel the paint and the flames growing on me. Thanks HAMB for the inspiration (and the discount!), thanks Wheelkid for the perfect wheels and thanks Coker for great looking tires thatwork well (went 70 mph yesterday and no prob so far.)
