licence plate value?

    I picked this up last weekend 1918 California porcelain licence plate with the bell for the year tab does anyone have any idea on a value thanks

    It will be worth more if plate is DMV clear & you have a pair.

    if you like it then its worth exactly what you paid for it...personally to me its worth very little

    Also Who's buying and how bad they want it. looks like a cool wall decoration in the meantime though. Did they use one or two plates that year?

    There are a number of them on Ebay and yours looks better than any that are for sale and none have the bell on them. According to this they were sold new in pairs.

    With it being a single and not a pair, its a wall hanger and a lot less value.

    Don't think they used pairs in 1918, did they?
