heres some updates- thanks for the interest fellas... I hadnt posted in a while- honestly I wasnt sure i was in the place for traditional builds anymore:rolleyes:.

I blew the car apart again and painted up the chassis in my garage. I used a single stage, in a color I felt would be very 40's (but it is a brand new production color 2012 vehicles!) what do you guys think of the color?

Keep at it! Never seen shock and headlight mounts welded directly to the frame before though.. Interesting.

it is a new fiat color..coffe latte or mocha somethin like that.

We started working on mocking up the top. We used the original header/bows from a sport coupe and cut them down to fit the chop and get the right height we wanted.

This is NOT the material or color the top will be, it is some left over material we had to help us get an idea of how it would lay.

we used a jeep wrangler rear seat- it fits like it was made for the car, a club member stiched up some fancy threads so it would look the part.

  23. i think the that sportcoupes need only a top chopped and reshaped like the other coupes.....they are cool.

    I agree, we chopped mine 3" .

Today had some time and Cavalier Tony came by to work on the top- we are just about done with the structure- all that will be left will have to be done after paint. We made some alterations to the visor and fitted the header- we also found an old dome light we will use.
