just got this, 55 Speedster with a 53 fiberglass nose. fatman stub and chevy rear. sold a really nice Model A coupe for this. hope i didn't fuck up.

Late to the party..here's Teresa, my wife, and our 1961 Hawk at the 2012 Kustom Kings show in Denison last year. 289, 3 on the tree with OD.

 

These are some pictures of my 32 Studebaker Rockne coupe. It has a cool history behind it and won the 1st Street Rod Nationals in Peoria when my father owned it and we won with it again at the 40th Nationals in Louisville after building the car again after my father passed away.

 

Here is my car , The Skeeter Hawk .
The engine is currently a basically stock Stude 289 with
TH 350 trans .

 

I've got one for sale in classifieds, 54 Hardtop.

 

I've got to fess up that I have a Studebaker problem I guess..I occasionally get the Studebaker magazine" Turning Wheels" it is one of the best ones out there..The HAMB is the only thing I really devote time to..Hey Guys..

traded my 63 Wagonaire for a 29 Model A and a 34 Pickup..recently found a later 289 with an old Edelbrock dress up kit and a McCullough Supercharger that I hope to put in my 53..That should start a chain reaction to put the 259 out of the 53 into the 48..
Right before they put the straight jacket on me and check me into the cuckoos nest I hope to have a 41 Coupe, an early 50s truck and a Gran Turismo..

 

dude, I love that. looks like something that would have been cruising around my local drive-in circa 1973. just love it!

 

Heres my 61 lark wagon. Its a little on the rusty side, the rockers are eat up. Some of you make have seen it in the long roof thread. Eventually it will get air ride, I have a sbc 350 about ready to be put in. The original motor was locked up. It was a six cylinder which was the 170 I think. Correct me if I am wrong. Has anyone ordered from studebaker international? Just curious to see before I go buying anything.

Dont get me wrong I really like studebakers but some of them are just ugly. Heck I think my car is ugly but I see it as having potential. I hope once mine is done it will get some attention. I like when people are able to take a car you wouldnt consider building and make it cool.

Anyone ever done or seen an LS swap in a lark before?

It should bolt in with some of the adaptor brackets out there, but most here wouldn't consider it H.A.M.B. friendly.

 

ive got a 57 commander 2 door.

 

I have seen LS motors in a number of Studebakers, including mine. My thought is most H.A.M.B.ers don't care what other people think ;-). If it is a concern, just don't open the hood. My personal opinion is you can't beat an LS type motor if you are going to drive the car a lot. If you get the SBC frame mounts for the 65-66 cars there are any number of adapters that will enable you to bolt an LS to those.
