Hope everyone has a safe & fun 4th,,Due to all the heavy rain here in the South the show I was going to attend has been rained out.

I just fired up the smoker and filled it with yard bird so at least we are gonna eat good. HRP

Fired up the smoker. Will take food over to the in-laws tonight. They are on the water on Galveston bay so we can sit on he front porch and watch the firework displays of three different towns.

Well, today I sit in Ghazni Province Afghanistan for my 2nd 4th of July on the battlefield. The Polish Artillery provided the fireworks here with a 10 round 152mm fire mission at some badguys a few miles away....that, and I just cut a deal (via internet) to buy my first Hamb friendly car from a fellow Hamber....a 1954 Lincoln Capri....it will be 8 months before I can tear into her but she will be waiting for me when I get home and that is all that matters! Have a great 4th everyone and please remember the troops in these valleys and on the mountains in this hell hole.......

I'm working all day and it is supposed to rain here, so when I get off work I am probably going to just relax and have a cold brew. Have a nice 4th everyone. :)

Stay save over there, Kein. It's because of people like you that we can celebrate days like this one.

Thanks Klein to you and all your buddies. We enjoy our holidays at home because you all are on duty. My neighbor bought one of those Lincolns new and I was one jealous kid back then.

I'm getting the roadster cleaned up for the parade in Craig and then its off to the boat to drink beer and watch the fireworks in beautiful downtown Klawock, Alaska.

Praying for your safe return, Bro. Keep your head down and THANK YOU for serving and all of your sacrifices.

we're going to take the rusty little '27 roadster out tonight and terrorize the town. It's a good one to watch fireworks out!

Seriously, Afganistan is not a nice place and I appreciate what you are doing over there and wish you the very best 4th of July.

Believe it or not you will value your experience there as time goes by. Being a Viet Nam vet I hate fireworks, anybody that likes fireworks hasn't been to war...

    just my opinion,

Took the 34 sedan out for a early ride. Hung out two flags. Will start the pit shortly.
Thanks to all vets who served to give us the freedom we have.

Just gonna take it easy today.

Smoking a couple pork ****s today for pulled pork, started at 4:30am. Using Cherry Wood and a Cherry BBQ sauce I picked up while I was up in Michigan last week.

Hopefully it will be ready for dinner with the family then off to the town Fireworks. Finally no rain!

First, I put out the grand old flag. Around mid-day the family will come over and we will enjoy charred animal flesh prepared on a CHARCOAL burning grill, corn on the cob, coleslaw, baked beans, and watermelon. And, because he signed The Declaration of Independence, a Samuel Adams beverage. Around 9:30 tonight there will be a fireworks display that can be viewed from the end of my street.

    Happy 4th to all.

This year, by putting in a 12 hour day during shutdown!

  25. To me Veteran's Day and Memorial Day are the true days (as is every day) for appreciation to what this country represents .... Fourth of July is simply a party day devised by politicians and I don't mind partying!

"...ought to be celebrated by pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other..." John Adams (politician)

    because nothing shows your patriotism
    more than blowing stuff up.
Happy 4th of July to all!

Thanks Kein, stay safe. Its been a Monsoon downpour for the last two days in the Florida Pan Handle and rain is forecast through all next week. There won't be any 4th of July festivities here today heavy thunderstorms all through the day and tonight. Flash flood watch in effect. We're heading back to Kentucky Monday. Hopefully it will be a little drier. If it ends in KY its got to be good.

Me and the bride are home today doing what we do..keep busy.....A Patriot is judged by their actions not the number of flags they display.
