Joel, I have been following your build for several years now as I too have a '47 Plymouth 4 door in much the same condition as yours was when you started. I must commend you on your persistance with the project. You have proved that one doesn't need a huge garage or expensive tools to build a hotrod. I believe that that is what "old school" hotrodding was about. As others have said, thank you for the inspiration to do my own build. I will probably be contacting you with questions when I get started.

Fantastic! That is the same body style my old man once had - his was a 67 Bell Air with a Caprice nose - those Chevys from that era are the best! Many congratulations on your Father's Day present!!

Had couple hours today so i bolted the fenders to the firewall for the first time. You cant tell i replaced the section between the door n fender. Hood is sitting a little off. Just need to find my missing nuts & bolts so i can lock it all in Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Hope you all (in the us states) are enjoying forth of july. Spent half the day working on it purchased like $30 worth of nuts, bolts, ect. Ordered a bunch of supplys to start working on the body. Thanks to plym49 for donating some money to me i hope the fenders i repaired for you live up to the sweat i poured out working on them lol Tried replacing the rear fender bolts but i cannot figure what size they are its really kicking my ass i have kits with every size available but cant find it really frustrating i got close to it but im not happy so the best thing to do is call it a night. The fenders look fantastic - the patches you welded in are mint. I hope to get one of them mounted tomorrow, or at least the old one off (driver's side). Wish I could work as fast as you do.
Thanks to plym49. Got back 2:30 am with the seats and yes i already cleaned them a little and bolted them in. Cant wait forthe day i start to rebuild this and get the seats redone. Finally figure how to replace the old stud holes for rear fender Blow out the old nut ( that doesn't sound right) Weld a washer to a new bolt Weld washer to body Only going to clean it up a little going to get undercoated and buried behind fender Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!

Thanks bill One of the things i did different was first thread the rear fender studs out from inside the car because if you look at the nuts they allow water in the car. The ones next to the rear door allows water inside the orig rocker panels. So by threading the bolts out i speared a little undercoat around the base of the bolts like this When i want to attach the fender i use a fender washer, lock washer and nut. Clever. The way you are rebuilding that thing, it will be as good as new when your boys get their licenses.
Man it's so hard to work in this heat. I got the urethane waiting in the garage and ordered the epoxy today. Starting to get some body panels done cause im tired of it not looking like progress on the outside. I laid some all metal on some spots i want beefed up like my pass rear fender. Its been hit so much the its crinkled and weak , but its solid. So i hammered what I can and smooth out the rest. Sanding this stuff is no joke Tomorrow im going to attempt to get alot done Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
You are fearless. You need a friend or two help here and there, though.... I don't think anything is going to stop you. This is what hot rodding is all about!
Went through this whole thread, and I'm envious of the job you've done. very few would have that kind of perseverance. Great job
