    How is this effect achieved?

    This has been explained before (post #1087 on page 55) but the simple explanation is that you spritz water onto the item and then, from the side at a very low angle and with very low pressure (so as not to disturb the water) you spray a dark color from one side and a lighter color from the other to create the highlight/shadow effect.

    I've got a question for all you painters out there, do you find the color of today's water based products more or less vibrant than urathanes? How about the candy colors or pearls, how do they stand up compared to HOK? Just a curious question as I have an acquaintance who swears nothing compares to the old lacquers of yester-year.... Thanks for the input guys!

    Been folowing your build on the LBCC site Yaril, such excellent work. You are an inspiration. I have a 59 Olds 98 flattop that has been in front of my shop waiting for just what you are accomplishing. Inspiring, thank you.
