I know I'm going to seem like an ass for saying this, but isn't there another thread for the technical stuff (Doing Falcons right)? I believe this one is for pics of Hot Rod Falcons Done Right.

 

Scans of my old 63 1/2 Sprint circa 1983. Built 289 4 speed, headers. Trim removed and filled. Damn that car could go. Sold it to a former co-worker in Cold Springs NV a few years after this. Never saw that car again. I wish I never sold it. Note the eighties required traction bars.

 

This is my 63 Futura. Doesn't look any different than it did in the early 70s when it was Boss 302 powered with a Hemi Torqueflite adapted to it. It was originally a 260 4speed, then went to a Shelby K code 289 with 2x4s and a top loader, then the Boss engine. Now its a 289 with a toploader from a K code 63 Fairlane. Runs easy high 12s

 

Would love to see more of this car. Looks perfect!

 

Really like the way the radius and the side trim are done! Looks great!

 

I have always like that, ever since I saw an old Holman-Moody car when I was a wee lad. I am going to grab a pair of front fenders, from the pile at my local Falcon-only dismantler, and cull the arches for future use.

 

The rear arches on my car are from a 67 Mustangs quarter panels, cut off the car when it was only a few years old. The work was done in 1970

 

Are those mini-lite styled wheels? I love them I've been thinking about that style on a round body. Any more pics of that car? M2 front clip?

 

Yup, and here to fore I have always played the part of the village librarian trying to get traffic directed either way. "Done right" for finished stuff, "Doing Falcons right" for the tech stuff...

Awesome! I've always wanted a '60.

 

I sold this 60' back in 1996, and have been kicking myself ever since. It had a 289 & a c-4 in it. It ran 15.00's at 87 mph. I know that ain't that fast, but it sure was a lot of fun.

my 1961 australian ute: (ranchero)

right hand drive -was sitting in a shed from 1990 till i bought mid 2012 off some guy who rescued it in early 2012.

bit of rust in right rear quarter.
note where spare wheel is - under rear tray access via a door under tailgate and petrol (gas) tank is in cab behind the seat - lol lol

3 speed manual and now a 200 ci. (orig utes only sold as manuall 144ci and 4.1 diff )

needed new rubbers balljoints brakes master cyl , seat etc etc - but still original paint (except for guard (fender) replaced sometimes in its life).
colour is 'broad meadows green ' - a funky name ford australi dreamt yup for the tehn new falcon. broadmeadows was the suburb in melbourne australia where the falcons were made.
australian utes had partial wood boards in the back - this still has original tasmanian oak -as it left the factory with .

done about 5000 miles in it inc one 2400 mile round trip to a nostalgia fest in gold coast , queensland ,

day of obatining mechanical certificate: still on orig 13" wheels - and needs lowering



behind you :
better with 14" whitewalls and lowered a few inches


can just see petrol (gas) cap behind passengers ( left hand !) door


replacement seat and orig interior - inc uncracked steering wheel (unheard of)


gas tank behind seat - had to take sender out to flush the rusty tank- hence radiater hose and poured petrol thru it and out drain in floor. behind rad hose can just see meatl fuel pipe which runs in tunnel to the engine bay.


rear tray and wood:spare wheel under the wood - but acces via rear door


up in the hills : can just see the rear door -under the tail gate (with plate on it) for the spare wheel
and australian only rubber bumperettes - no australian 60 to 66 utes had rear bumpers


sight seeing in australia on 2400mile road trip : not me in background!. also have half a wagon roof on the tray - collected it for another falcon project i have - 1961 delivery van

 

The passenger side fits pretty good, and clears the McLeod scatter shield. The collector is pretty close to the floor.
