    Test results:
Seems a little better. Biggest contributor to that, I think, was putting the shocks on right side up. Some dumb s**t put them on the same way the old ones came off - with brain disengaged.

My have found a semi-local "guru" who was nice enough to volunteer to take a look at it - but he's about 25 miles away in one of the hottest areas of San Diego - so I need to let the current heat wave pass before going out there. Not looking forward to that long of a drive on the freeway in "Miss Twitchy".

She also needs a fan shroud. Fine on the freeway, but gets warm in stop-and-go.

Work is messing with my hobby again - so nothing will likely get done for a couple weeks. Don't you just hate it when that happens? Oh, well. Gotta fund the toys...

Just come back to this thread when you do something else and let us know what you did and results. I'm sorta concernd about the rear bars being almost paralell, as stated by a previous poster, this tends to bind up the rear suspension as far as one side going up or dowm more than the other as in a turn or a one wheel bump.

Have you tried putting some weight in the back. Well if you drink beer i would be willing to have a look at it. If you bring stripper im willing to throw some welds on it to. But im also in the hottest part of el cajon.

I love to do a Watts linkage. Problem is that the #@!% gas tank is right where it would need to be welded in.

Yea, when I posted that, I had forgotten you had a tub. Have you tried looking for pics of tubs and using what those guys did? Honestly, when I read this thread, I get pissed like it's my car. I somehow feel that if one of the T guys on here saw your car in person, you'd be on the road in no time.

Other than my 225 lbs., I haven't tried putting much additional weight in it. Drink beer? Is the pope Catholic? What brand do you prefer?

I'm tied up for the next week with business. Can you PM me your phone number? Maybe I could bring it out to EC the week of the 15th - if it doesn't melt getting there.

Don't have any strippers to bring along, so we'll need to make other arrangements for welding.

Haven't found any rear suspension pics of tubs, but still looking. Don't really know any T-Bucket guys here. I'll keep asking around. A bunch of us old farts get together at a nearby (Bonita, CA) donut shop every Saturday morning and I've been asking around. Eventually, I'll stumble on to somebody who'll be able to diagnose it in about 10 minutes. In the meantime I'll live with it.

I'm looking at another toy as a long distance cruiser so I can keep the bucket for local stuff. 48 ford coupe, Camaro front clip, ladder bars and coil-overs on the Ford 8" rear. TPI 350 with a TH350. Mild custom, black and straight as an arrow. P/S. power discs on the front and vintage air. Haven't got it in the garage yet, but it's coming. Probably need to start another thread on it. Drove it and it doesn't need much.

Ok. It's been quite a while since I updated this. I put on new wheels and tires and there is quite an improvement. The rear had tires installed that were too big for the wheels. Had P275/60R-15s on around 7" wide wheels (haven't dismounted the tires to get an accurate measurement of wheel width).

Went to Weld Prostars. Rears: 15" by 10" wide, with Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R Radials 26x12.00; Fronts 15" by 6" with Kumho Solus KR21 125/75R-15s. Actually raised the front a little while lowering the rear - means that I can see more through the windshield as opposed to over it.

Now driving on the freeway at speed isn't terrifying. There's still a slight amount of "twitch". I may experiment a bit with rear shocks as I think that the ones I have may not be quite right for the application - not to mention that having had them on upside down for a while may have screwed them up. Anyway, at least it's driveable.

I did snag the '48 Ford Super Deluxe coupe I mentioned. It turned out to have a 4L60E transmission in it (pleasant surprise) with an LT-1 350 ('96 vintage). 9" Ford 3.25:1 posi. 4 wheel discs. It's been fun taking care of the relatively minor bugs it had. Turns out that I am the 3rd owner of the car since new. Got a folder full of build receipts (was built into a hot rod in Indiana).
