Thanks for the appreciation tennesseecouchpotatoe, it's fun doing the research, although for some reason, the house chore list seems to never get any smaller! That and a very busy job these days, gets in the way too. I'll get back at it before other's beat me to the secret stash. Here's some more from West Vancouver and Horseshoe Bay. I love the halftrack, used to get up the ski hill, before the chairlift was built on Cypress Mtn. Many will have seen that mountain, in 2010 it was an Olympic venue. Enjoy.

Swi66 ,On post 74746 is there any information on this show car? who built it what was it built from?

 

THAT is a North American Aviation XB-70 Valkyrie fuselage, one of the most incredible aircraft ever built that was intended to go into mass production. Capable of sustained Mach3 speeds it could out run any anti aircraft missiles of the time.
That was until a photo shoot for General Electric of 5 different aircraft (That GE built the engines for) ended in disaster when an F-104 wandered into the XB-70 destroying them both. That as well as mounting costs through several component failures, like all 6 engines eating themselves on one flight had the contract canceled.

Sad, that would have been one HELL of a thing to see flying around!!
