More pics from the Salmon Bake.

The Chef was doing an awesome job.

What the hell good is a bonfire with nobody sitting around it????

It was raining like a tall cow pissing on a flat rock is the reason it is deserted.

    More to follow after dinner

Well she ain't ready for dinner yet so I will post a few more. The Salmon Bake pics are out of order but what the hell.

Leaving Petersberg harbor heading for Juneau.

Sea lions on the Buoy, smelly bastartds.

Another Huge cruise ship, this one in Juneau.

Took a ride up north of Juneau to the shirne of St Therese. The Priest built this neat chapel on the point and used this boat to convert the locals.

Neat, all tucked away in the woods. I just love all of the moss on everything.

    Weezner goes to church !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now she is ready for dinner.

So much neat shit to see, boats, critters, glaciers.

Neat little bay formed by the creek, water as clear as glass.

Old bridge over the creek that feeds the fresh water bay above.

The Mendenhall Glacier is only a few miles outside (north) of Juneau and is accessable by car.

It was still raining when we were there but we managed anyway. The blue color of the ice comes from the emence pressure of the snow on compressing the ice and forcing the air out to only let the blue spectrum show through, as it melts it lookes it's blue color.

Close up view, see the blue starting to fade to white.

Kinda looks like a swan don't it???? < well maybe not, but it is an interesting shape.

A nice young man from India took this of the odd couple.

Gotta load some more to picture trail.

Great pics and trip! Looks like you two are having a ball. I'll be going through you home town the end of this month to spend time in Eagle River, that's about as far north we go. Have fun, be safe and thanks for sharing your adventure with us.

It's only 6:15 in Tok Alaska, gotta wait until 7am for the Chevron station to open so I can check and see if I have a front brake caliper hanging up. It's pulling to the left.

So lets post some more pictures.

A huge thanks to Steve Alwine at the Mendenhall Auto Center for storing the 52 in the showroom while we flew to Glacier Bay National Park for 3 days, and then delivering it to the Motel on the 4th of July.

I got to ride up front in this single engine plane.

Nice View of the small islands that dot the inside passage.

She is young enough to be my grandaughter. Got us there safely too.

There was supposedly a bear down there by the creek mouth but I never saw it.

Pilots view of the Gustavis International Airport.

There is where our luggage was stowed, where the hell is the engine, it must not be very big.

The interior of GIA. This is all they need for a town of 350 folks.

Glacier Bay Lodge, our home away from home for the next 3 days.

These are the cabins, we stayed in one down by the bay. With a real nice view of the harbor and all of the small boats moored out there.

Another view of the lodge, it has the restaurant and gift shop and the park visitor center, all of the guest's stay in the cabins.

Maggie at the front door of our cabin.

Coolio idea for a bicycle rack if you have a ton of room for it. They obviously have the room here at the boat dock.

There were hundreds of these Sea Kayak's all over the harbor and in the main part of Glacier Bay also.

Our front row seating for the boat tour. Wonder what I did to deserve that look, prolly cause I'm taking her picture again.

    Too many pictures

    To be continued.

Here are the rest of this mornings pictures.

Sea Lions on Marble Island, Smelly old bastards.

Puffins on the rocks of Marble Island, there were a few of them but thousands of other birds, mostly Rat's with Wings (seagulls) though.

I'll bet you can tell I like these colorfull little burrowing birds eh???

    Last one, I promise.

A couple of black bears on the shore.

Mountian Goat on a high cliff.

Another Bear, this one is bigger and a brownish color.

Before we get to the actual Glaciers I gotta go to the Chevron station and see about my car pulling to the left under braking, maybe have a caliper hanging up.

    Later

I'm heading out Dip Netting on Thurs! I hope to limit out (me and two dependants so 55) and then head up to the middle Kenai (Kenai Keys), and catch my 6 a day..

You up to take some salmon home, Bob?

Suggest you recheck the regs. Kenai River limit is 25 for head of household plus 10 per dependent. That adds up to 45. A you fishing on the city beach side or???
