Looks like a WWI military funeral. The woman is wearing a mourning band with a star on it, and is receiving a flag. The man standing next to her has two chevrons on his sleeve denoting a year's combat service.

  5. Not that strange if you have ever lived in that crap. Looks like her car was stuck there for a while.

That's what I assumed too but the flyover would indicate a person of stature.

Mary Pickford presents Colonel H. H. Arnold with a service flag during a ceremony on Air Memorial Day (May 18, 1919) in Hollywood, California.

  8. I love this "performance as reliable as it is potent" :D my '64 spyder was completely worn out at 49k miles , needed everything ie full engine kit. But it was fun while it lasted .:)

Corvairs were a bloody mechanic's nightmare. I don't think I ever made flat rate working on the damn things.

Dusty-NZ, When you said, "it was fun while it lasted" about your Corvair Spyder, that tells us exactly why it only lasted 49K miles!

TTpete, Corvairs were nothing compared to how hard many of todays cars are to work on. So I guess its good that your not working on cars anymore.

Oh yeah. The Hamburger Inn. Run by two ex navy guys. One tall and skinny and the other short and husky. 10 cent hamburgers and cold dime cokes. My buddy and I would ride the bus as kids just to pig out on the eats there blowing all we had in our pockets. We also use to take hiking and fising expeditions out south of 41st through Dan Dugans Sand Pits and Fuel Depot to hunt for rabbits and down to the Sioux River past the interstate on 229. Wall Lake bike expeditions on bikes built for two with 10 guys / 2 to a bike.

Remember the Candle and Cue at the corner of Minnesota and 33rd across the street from the Sunshine grocery store? That morphed into an electric slot car race track during those times or was that it it the other way around? How about The Nobleman, The Prophets, The Pharaohs, The Czars etc Hy Y click jacket groups? .... and all the keggers at the Quary?
