Had an old 18" that I'd had sandblasted, but there had been a lot of rust through. I found a way to enjoy using it, winding the leads to my welder on it. I'd like to paint everything fancy and put a hubcap on it.
1.) Have messy TIG cart with cable hooks (that doesn't workk that well) 2.) Have many Model A Wheels 3.) Steeling Your Great Idea Dude! Mahalo T
Raise the wheel up a bit to follow the "fender line" of the front plastic panel of the welder then color match it to the red on the Hobart logo
Nice idea, years ago a local wrecking yard had a gas welding cart with two 1929 Auburn wire wheeks and tires on the cart. Bob
One of my projects this winter is refurbishing a lot of things in my garage. Custom painting cabinets, tool boxes, equipment, etc. so I'll get the welder cart painted properly.
My grandfather had a Dusenburg chassis in a field, he was saving it for a hay cart...was able to identify it 'cause of the hub caps...
I've been looping my ground cord and wire cable over the top of my Airco mIg for 35 years, always thinking "I should make an arced hanger for this"... Why didn't I get this idea??? Great one, I love it! I'll be borrowing it, too...Thanks!
I have a feeling that one is going to get borrowed many times over in the next few weeks. That Chevy frame I drug home last spring has two wire rims might just produce a rim for that.
R Frederick - that is a Ford wheel, 18 inch is from a 32. Any hubcap from a Ford 32-35 fits. I have plenty of old ones - come on up to Wisconsin and pick one out!
I got a wheel like yours and an extra oxy/acetylene cart that's going to be my mig cart. Thanks for the post! Cool
