I found a new outlook on life, confidence, and true happiness.... NOT!! I found a lot of beach sand, since it came from Hawaii. Oh, and McDonald's receipts stuffed down the a-pillar dating back two years. By the way, there's a giant and quite entertaining thread on this subject already.

Wasn't meant to bring an old thread back to life just sharing what we had found. No wonder I'm a little gun shy to start a thread or post anything . Sorry. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I've had my 47 about a year now. I was pulling out the headliner in prep for a new one when I found a mouse nest up over the windshield header. About the size of a football, now I know where all the padding from under the driver's seat went! Headliner still looked great, no stains, no sags. Who knows how long it's been there.
When I was removing the old musty, rotten carpet out of my bird, I found the original keys and keychain that the car left the dealer with in 1962 on the passenger side floorboard Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
found a unregistered cal. tag under the gas tank in my coupe. not going to give u the tag # cause i want to keep it........................
Weeeel, Found quite a few bullets under the seat. Put them in my tool box at work because I didn't think it was right to throw away live rounds. NEXT day, landlord of shop I'm in gets raided by the FEDS looking for drugs and drug dealers. Drug sniffing FED dogs are also trained to sniff ammo. Crazy FED pulls out crowbar and starts busting open my $17k Mac tool box. Fucks it all up. Finds about 6 corroded old bullets. Leaves them on the bottom box for me to find next morning.
I found a Bugatti straight eight inlet manifold in the back of a scrap '46 Fordor I bought for 50 bucks. Twitter @edsrodshop
Did I find a ball point pen the belonged to Ab Jenkins? Probably not, but the coincidence is interesting enough. Almost everything else I found in the '47 helped verify the history of the truck in Salt Lake.
In the winter of 1973 I went to look at a nice 1960 Biscayne (2 door post). I took it for a test drive and everything seemed OK. After returning from my test drive I asked the owners son for the trunk key because I wanted to check for rust issues. The son told me the trunk was solid but that his mother had lost the trunk key some time ago and they never bothered to get a new one. I purchased the car for a $125.00 and proceeded to drive the car home. I got about 5 miles when the engine overheated. I pulled into a gas station opened the hood and found water coming out of a crack in the block. It appeared that the son had dumped a couple bottles of BARS LEAK into the cooling system and it lasted good on my test drive but only a couple miles more. I phoned the son from the gas station and he basically told me I had bought the car and it was now my responsibility (in other words he told me to pound salt). I did get the car home but had to stop at every service station along the way to fill it with water. I was choked that I had just bought a car to get me to and from school and now I couldn't even drive it. It was late by the time I got home so I just put the car in the garage and went to bed. The next morning I removed the back seat so I could crawl through the trunk and release the trunk latch. I found it very difficult to crawl through because the trunk was so full of stuff but I finally made it and was able to open the trunk. To my amazement the trunk was full all right and full of real nice stuff. I had 2 new pairs of leather logging boots (one ankle high pair and one pair knee high) both with cleats. A new HD garden hose (that I still have today), a new framing hammer (still have today), a box of framing nails, a sledge hammer, misc tools, a new wool loggers jacket, a new hard hat and a couple rolls of new electrical tape. When a fellow from school heard about this he contacted me and wanted to buy most the stuff. With the money he paid for the items ($350.00) I was able to install a 327 in the Biscayne and enjoyed driving the car for a couple years. No, I did not call the owners son back, I figured things kind of evened themselves out.
