I have a plaque from "The Vampires" Spokane auto club.
It doesn't look anything like yours

Its 5 x 12. Do you think it could be an associated club?

Here is the plaque that belonged to Curt Hardy 1961 Best in Show Hartford Autorama
The earlier Tappets plaque were hand painted. His father was a sign painter. The roadster image on the plaque is Curts. Chicago Metal Co.

Here is ours. Just got them made up. It lights up at night. I know it's not traditional but they are way cool.

Dennis, how could you tell an original Veeblefetzers from one that you make? Just picked one up at the swap meet and it has no other markings on it.

    Thanks, Derek

  17. Heres mine, from our Hamb social club, Gold Chainers CC, and three American ones, that a Hamber buddy sent me to hang in my shed.

There was years ago a club, with plaques of course, in Sioux Rapids IA with the somewhat risque name "THE CHERRY PICKERS" Real cool! I sure wish I could find one of those plaques or maybe a club jacket. Greg

I'm Winston, the plaque was long gone when I got the car, so I ordered the copies from you. You really made my day, not to mention the tears that they brought on, Thanks Dennis , Winston

  25. Derek,

An original should have the Chicago MetalCraft Port Chicago logo on the back, If it's a repop that I made from the original CM pattern, it would have my logo on the back,

    Dennis

  26. There is some guy selling third ( or or more ) generation repops of repops of the Veeblefetzers plaque on ebay. There are no markings on the back. The quality is horrible, so I know they didn't come from Dennis.

There is also a guy using real club's plaques and grinding off the locations before adding others. As an example, in the late 50's I belonged to a club called the Vampires and we met at my mom & dad's house in Redondo Beach, CA. We had these plaques made and used them until the club disbanded .....

Recently someone sent me a photo of this plaque that was being sold on eBay as an original plaque .....

To me it looked like he took another Vampires plaque and ground off the location before adding So Bay. Dennis has patterns for a couple of Vampires plaques that look just like the So Bay one above, like this example from a Pueblo club.

    You can be the judge.

  29. Here is the original Veeblefetzers pattern that was amongst the 8,000 patterns I bought from the original pattern maker for Chicago MetalCraft.

  30. OK, I'm kinda embarassed to admit that I bought one of these cheap knockoffs, but it was priced cheap. Here are the photos of the wreckage. It is thin, and poorly cast. When it arrived, it was still coated in the casting sand. The back is so porous, it looks like styrofoam, with all the little voids. Like I said...no danger mistaking this POS for one of Dennis' awesome castings!
