Projects Friends I owe them big time.

I found out I need another heart surgery. I need a valve job. Dr. is restricting my lifting to 20lbs. until after surgery.

The Cad. engine in my 48 Ford is still apart after fixing a cracked head. I need to get it together and running so its worth something in case my wife has to sell it.

I asked a friend Don if he knew a good mechanic that will come to where I store it. Don is a good wrench but doesn't have much engine experience. He said he would give it some thought. Don called the next day and said he and a friend of his Richard (a good engine guy) would come over and do it for me.

Next day they were there and Richard took over and got one head on when we found two bent push rods and had to stop. They said they will be back when I replace the parts.

I've tried to pay Richard more than once. He just says don't worry about it.

When this is all over I owe them big time.

We are blessed with friends and some of us don't deserve them.

so when do you and the Caddy get a valve job? is there a machine shop near the hospital?

The Caddy's valves are all done. The heads just need to be put back on. My valve job is scheduled for Aug. 21st in S.F.

I just hope the surgeons have as much experience on hearts as Richard has on engines.

I'm envious. My "friends" usually want money from me to help them spend it foolishly.
