He would get 16 mpg if it didn't have those huge mirrors on it...:)

Personally, I don't like the mirrors or stacks, and the bed in the picture looks rough. Using the original front axle and single master works, but makes it seem like a cheap build. The master needs swapped for sure for safety reasons. The axle, if it is solid and tight, is fine, but I bet it rides like a truck... I****ume no power steering. What is the interior like? Is the fit and finish of the swapped parts (engine, rear end, etc...) done well, or just done on the cheap? Take off the "new car blinders" if you can.

Lastly, is it close to what you want? If you need to change everything, then you'll be spending money for it twice.

On the plus side, a rust free cab and no bodywork is worth a lot these days. Is the paint good? Paint jobs cost money.

These are just my opinions...take them for what they are worth.

Just had a look at the MACK cab here being restored and the tops of the doors are round.

It is all painted now in cream with black fenders. No point in taking a photo until it is all in one piece again.

Is there a build thread on this one? It looks awesome! I'm about to start a build on a 51 GMC and I hope it trues out half as nice.

I think they have the year wrong on that Diamond T. I believe 1957 was the first year for that body style.

  22. I think you are right. There was an estate auction last year in Kansas that included a bunch of Diamond Ts. I think this might be one of them, too bad some****hole cut it up and sold all the heavy iron for scrap and now wants to get a******house price for the cab. Damn, I hate scrappers!

Here's a good-looking COE rig I found while searching Utah archives for photos related to my Salt Lake Diamond T.

Thats what my Scrapper buddy found for me. A 1936 GMC,, Went and looked at it when I pulled the 60 hearse he got for me out from the field.
Has a 12 foot flatbed on her with what looks like the bottom of a suburban body,,, with fenders,,,, for a lower filler on each side of the bed.
Now if I can just keep his dumb**** out of Jail long enough to go get it.

  26. GMC didn't build COEs in 36! They relied on Montpelier Body works to modify conventionals. Montpelier bodies looked quite different than the 37-38 shown in Barn Finds post.
Here is another 38 from Kalamazoo MI Nats north from a few years ago
