I'll bet dollars to dog poop, the driver had no restraining device of any kind.

This shot intrigues me. The truck is a right hand drive, the plate is Vic ,Australia and the correct configuration for the time (1946 approx). But modern racing 10 speeds and lycra back then ?

Looks like a 210 hardtop. Very rare these days.

Great shot of a late 1931 Ford Standard Police Patrol 290-A.

The picture is clearly taken on the day it was delivered to the Department. Model A's came with a spare wheel; but no spare tire. You can also see the original driving/break-in instructions on the lower passenger side of the windshield. Here is a link to what it looked like originally.

I'm doing a lot of research on these Paddy Wagons. I've managed to find about 20 departments that bought one of the 200 or so that were originally produced. Only two or three survive today in original condition.

Bowtie, do you know what Sheriff department it was used by?

It looks like Sir Hubert Opperman and probably his wife ,,,Oppy set many long distance endurance records on his trusty Malvern Star bicycle,,one of his bikes is on permanant display at a local pub "The Norlane"they named their bistro "Oppys Bistro"after him ..

This Lockheed Electra, NC14259, was originally flown by Cubana, then with Pacific Alaska. It brought back the bodies of Will Rogers and Wiley Post after their fatal plane crash in 1935; last known info was that it was withdrawn from use in 1947.

Lockheed Vega floatplane NC47M, later N47M, named Nugget, was with Alaska Coastal Airlines from 1936 until it was wrecked in 1958 near Tanakee (pilot killed, two passengers injured). If you look up the registration you'll find some nice color shots of it in dark blue with gold trim.
