So cool. Does anyone know if the glass fenders are "vintage" or perhaps still mfg some place? I like em.. Thanx, Gary
Yes, they sell them. I think theyre $125 each. There's a guy who makes exact repros to original specs, and theres another place that makes them 2" wider. I have the links on my desktop computer Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
It's a '48 Western Flyer, a Canadian bus that had been built for the military in Canada. The couple that own it are from Ontario, and drive it all over the US and Canada. It had been mauve and pink, recent repaint in more appropriate D) colors gave a totally different look. It's powered by a Duramax/Allison combo, they report 14 mpg highway. Pretty cool, huh? Brian
found it. here you go.. http://www.teardropparts.com/teardrop-fenders.html thats a good site. they have all the hardware etc.
Here are pics of my son-in-laws 60's era freshly redone Scotty...well, the remains of it anyway. Apparently the ole Scotty didn't want to travel, started swaying, and upset. Gives new meaning to "Hitting the Road". Fortunately, no one was hurt.
Can someone out there help me identify this trailer. Just picked it up to restore and would like to find some info on it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
^ Sure looks interesting... and at least you can stand up in it! I'd like something like that trailer done in modern materials, as light as possible. Gary
Cool set up! do you have a close up of how you mounted your hitch on the model a frame? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I haven't detailed it yet, but I have a hitch going on the back of my T in my build below. You can see it on the back of my chassis, two drop down tabs and it bolts through the rear cross member. It's removable so I don't have the ball hangin' out while not towing. It'll haul a teardrop or small trailer with pedal bikes, that's about it. Hope that helps. Cool, post pics when you finish that. I have an old hitch that was on my buddy's 41 coupe. It clamped under the rear spring and hooked onto the bumper. I was looking at it over the weekend, and now I am definitely going to modify it to go on my 29 roadster! Ill have to make some sort of spreader-bolt in cross member that bolts to the frame but clears the torque tube, and weld a plate to it to bolt it under my rear spring. Then I have to do a couple pie cuts to get it to clear the rear of the car, but its all doable. Ill add some tabs for safety chains too. I picked up a 48 kit trailer a few weeks ago, so now i am planning to pull it with my roadster!
Very cool man. Yep,I'll post pics as progress is made. '27 T Roadster build: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=734383
Not exactly old but old looking. Built on a pop up camper frame. Built by a Hamber for a Hamber! Called the Whetzeldorf!
