Is the red oxide primer a epoxy product?

  3. You guys are making the NW proud. Awesome job. Man. I need a drink of whatever you've been drinking. Motivation juice for sure. Nice details all around. You just can't go wrong with a down and dirty tudor with attitude. Cheers from some guy that used to live in the NW.

    Sam-
Great job! The sensation of driving your sedan for the first time will never leave you. As we older hot rodders will tell you, ALL your future projects will give you that same thrill. That's why we keep building them. It puts a smile on my face just thinking about your first spin out the driveway today. I'm happy to have met you and again, great job!
    Be smart but have fun!

Thanks Dale. We got off the well recently, HAHAHA. Down and dirty is something that I will always love.

P.S. I loved Hotrodarama. Wish it was still alive and kicking.

Hey thanks Rick! It was a pretty freakin awesome day today. Three years in the making, my dream car has come to life. Oh you can bet I had a smile on my face. Also laughing with joy as I let the clutch out for the first time, and it moved! I will meet up with you again, mark my words. Maybe we could do a Baskerville side by side comparison like he did with Jake's coupe and the California Kid.

    Perfect name Pop.

The first problem was the tri power carbs that I mentioned earlier.

Second was junk flanged sealed bearings in the steering column that clunked around and felt like they were dry inside.

1350 U-joint that wouldn't fit in the Strange Eng. yoke.

Rear Brake Tee that wouldn't seem to seal.

Me being an idiot and breaking a fitting in the proportioning valve

There are some other stuff that I'm forgetting I know. This was just in the past 2 days.

The WORST thing happened today in the middle of my run up to town. I pulled out of an O'reilleys and headed down the road. All of a sudden my windshield turned brown, my hair and face were covered in a hot liquid and I watched a spray of oil geyser into the air through the top insert. I put it in neutral and shut it off and did my best Ace Ventura to get off the road. Inspection revealed a burst oil pressure line, it just exploded off the back of the block.

I ran into the store and grabbed some paper towels to mop up most of the oil off the exhaust and motor. But as I looked back the whole chassis, firewall, body, top wood, inside of the car, and myself are completely soaked in oil. It was a fuckin mess. It was a good thing I got pictures of the car before because it will never be that clean ever again.

My dad came up and helped my in the what seemed like 110 degree heat. We plugged the hole and made it back home and put in a quality oil pressure installation kit. I lost 3/4 to one quart but it managed to evenly distribute it over the entire car.

That's the plan. We'll see how tomorrow goes and hopefully make the trek down.

The best news beside driving the sedan, Is my dad is now making the drive to Bville in his model a pickup. So it will be a fun trip with his pickup, my buddy Eric's 61 impala bubbletop gasser, and my sedan.

Congrats on getting it running and driving! That oil line break REALLY sucks - I can imagine the mess it made.. not good at all.

Hopefully you have a safe, uneventful trip to Bonneville - best of luck and have a great time.
