I met Gary Piccolo on the 2011 Street Rodder Road Tour. Gary built this "Y-Block 6 Cyl." T last year and won an award for it at the 2013 Syracuse Nationals. The 6 cylinder Ford Y-Block is a long story. He'll be happy to tell it to you if you see him. I'm not sayin'
Your gonna post something as unusual as a Y block 6 and just leave us hanging?,,,how did he do it? HRP
3.8 ford v6 from a t-bird,,,,had one I put in a ford ranger with an Lincoln automativ overdrive and it is not a y-block just a 45 degree v-block
Post #6 is the answer. Cut-down Y-Block valve covers on a late-model V6. You can see the perimeter bolts that hold them on, in the picture. No mystery here.
Prolly a 4.2. The 4.2 Ford V6 was basically a copy of the Buick 3.8. THey are actually very good engines.
Looked at the car at the show it's a 3.8/4.2 Mustang engine with narrowed y-block covers on adapters. Looked like a real nice car.
Not sure about the dude, but the car is real (nice too) and the engine is a 3.8 Ford based engine. It's not HAMB but it's still a decent power plant that looks nice. Probably makes decent power for the car too.
