Agree. Is this a magic trick? What happened to the old factory blue on the block?

Better question is...what happened to the new engine you picked up?

A riddle wrapped in an enigma inside a conundrum.....

Great progress. Can't wait for more. If that is what happens though. No biggy...

So the enigmatic riddle conundrum goes like this:

We discovered the new block is stuck. I tried to free it up for 5 hours to no avail. So I took the block from the 34 project and the heads from the new motor and mated them together to create the United Colors of Y-Block.

For want of an accessory drive pulley the battle was lost?

The accessory crank mounted pulley from the 239 doesn't fit the 312 and the main drive on for the 312 is harmonically balanced. So I can't use any of the lower pulleys from the old motor. I can't find one anywhere, but I have all my feelers out. So we'll see what kind of magic is left in this whole adventure and what happens next.

It's a never ending freaking emotional rollercoaster.... I thought for sure finding brand new exhaust manifold gaskets for a 56 year old engine in a local retail store, on a Sunday morning was truly a sign....

Keep it up and you will make it.

Sorry about the 312 being locked up. Hopefully you can free it up without any damage.

i've raged and raged against the dying of the light, i'm exhausted from 18 hour day after 18 hour day, and i am out of time to get this thing running with any sort of chance to prove it to any extent before leaving.

so, i'm gonna clean the shop, and make a list of the things that still need to be done, and leave it until i get back from the drags.

then, i'm gonna pack up the Camper Van of Ecstasy(tm) and hitch a trailer with Moose's A sedan, and we'll point the party west and see you in joplin.

Now Joplin will rumble with the asphalt pounding power of the feared Moose tuned flat six. You've been warned.
