this car pretty much started my passion for GTO's, i've had 3 since and 3 lemans'

 

I'm sure it's been said numerous times (of course I'm always behind the curve) but not only are the pics in this thread a refreshing look at the past for us more "mature" guys but it also serve as a peek into our history. I haven't really looked at it from that perspective before. So many cool pics of our service men and great country. Again thank you to all who contribute to this thread, keep posting and I'll keep looking!

I'm usually pretty good at WW2 vintage aircraft ID, but what is this airplane?

 

Consolidated PB4Y-2 Privateer maritime patrol bomber, reconnaissance. A dirivitative of the B-24.

Nicely done MPresley. This particular PB4Y-2 from VPB 106 or 107 was taken at Samar, PI in 1946.

 

What on earth is going on with that tank? (The hurricane).

Wiat- I can see it now -they're changing the engine. Wouldn't have expected a radial engine, but I don.t really know much about tanks etc.
